Girl Wonder –
(Ingredients list is at the bottom of this review.)
I was so keen to be wowed by the Naturium Skin Soothing Recovery Lotion (1.7 oz / 50 ml). I have dry, sensitive skin, and anything that says “skin soothing”, “recovery”, or “barrier repair” *should* be perfect for someone like me. Unfortunately, this was not the case. This moisturizer seems to have some really great ingredients, but somehow it did not deliver. I don’t think there is anything on the ingredient list that I’m known to be sensitive to, but my skin did not like this lotion.
Let’s talk about the good. The packaging is gorgeous. The tube is a beautiful blue-grey color with a very functional pump. The ingredient list seems really great overall. The scent is creamy, light, and fresh. At $17.99 for 50ml, this seems like an excellent value for money. Very affordable.
The lotion itself is the same beautiful blue-grey color. It is fairly thick, and it seems like it has enough body to it to be able to truly, deeply hydrate and moisturize the skin.
Upon application, the lotion feels very nice. It feels like such a quality, well-made product. But as I was applying the lotion, it began to sting, and the stinging lasted for a little while after I was done applying my skincare. Maybe it’s got something to do with the preservatives? Phenoxyethanol usually stings slightly upon contact (for many skin types), but it ends very quickly. This was a more intense sting, which lasted longer. It was not at all comfortable or acceptable, but it wasn’t terribly intense.
Once the stinging stopped, I was still certain that the formulation was going to be excellent. I expected the lotion to soothe, hydrate, moisturize, and restore my skin. I truly expected excellent results, especially considering the ingredient list, the stated purpose of the product, and the thicker texture of the lotion. Unfortunately, the lotion soaked into my skin extremely well. Too well. It didn’t leave that much-needed, lasting layer of hydration and soothing moisture on the surface of my skin. Which is a VERY IMPORTANT feature for a product designed for soothing and healing sensitized, irritated skin to have. So I added a second layer. This left a better layer of moisture on the surface of my skin. However, a short while later, my skin began to feel tight, uncomfortable, and irritated. It got worse as time went on.
I honestly couldn’t believe the results. It seemed so contrary to the ingredient list, the stated purpose of the product, and the texture of the lotion. I ended up trying the lotion again after about 2 weeks. The results were unfortunately the same, and now I am left trying to heal and soothe my skin again.
I truly do not understand how a product designed for sensitized skin can further sensitize skin. I don’t understand why it left my skin feeling tight, parched, stingy, chapped, and irritated. I was really expecting so much more. Clearly, somewhere along the way, the formulation went off-track. Hopefully, Naturium will reformulate, and knock it out of the park next time. Hopefully, they will stick to the stated purpose of the product, and avoid any divided interests, and the latest popular “buzzword” rabbit holes, which are known to lead so many formulations way off-track these days.
Until then, I’m left scratching my head. I so wanted to love this. I expected it to be a new favorite, but I won’t be able to use it anymore. That’s why I gave it 3 stars. Nice ingredient list overall, but something went awry in the execution.
A NOTE TO NATURIUM: It would be wonderful to add accurate, full ingredient lists to all of your products listed on Amazon. It would go a long way toward helping your customers save time and make informed decisions without any hesitations or uncertainties. Thank you!

I don’t know why the reviews are so good for this specific line (the sensitive skin one). I tried this one and the moisturizer in the jar and they are both VERY sticky, feels like glue when going on the skin. I thought I would like it bc I have combo/acne prone skin that gets oily at times but it is WAY too matte for me. Pass on this!

I absolutely love this stuff

Not a big fan of naturium products because of how it behaves on my sensitive skin! I use it sparingly but I have noticed that my skin texture is much smoother and dark spots fade faster. Grateful to have this in my collection!

This is the 3rd product of this brand I’ve purchased and will probably try more. I have normal to dry, post menopausal skin. The products/brands I used in the past weren’t working anymore. After experimenting with cervae, Paula’s Choice, aveeno & Honest, to name a few, this has consistently worked. I’m sensitive to strong scents & these products light fragrance doesn’t bother me and dissipates quickly. Will repurchase. Great results that are reasonably priced.

This recovery lotion is a good weight for warmer months. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly. This feels really nice – hydrating, soothing, but not at all tacky or oily.
I have sensitive skin with red spots on my cheeks and nose. Those looked lessened after using this. It also seems to be helping with pms skin, as I’m not breaking out as I usually do.
This is a pale blue color, and it has no added fragrance. Just a neutral smell.

I use this after I do at home microderm and it moisturizes and soothes my face so it feels soft like a baby’s bum!

write an amazon review for The Naturium Skin Soothing Recovery Lotion with Marshmallow Root and Arnica has become a staple in my skincare routine. It’s lightweight but incredibly hydrating, and it feels amazing on my skin—especially after a long day in the sun or when my skin feels irritated.
The combination of marshmallow root and arnica is perfect for calming redness and inflammation. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in how my skin looks and feels after using it regularly. The formula absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue, which I really appreciate.
Overall, it’s a fantastic product if you have sensitive or easily irritated skin. The soothing effect is noticeable, and the natural ingredients are a big plus. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a gentle but effective lotion!
