The scientific test on this I read about said the capsules don’t do anything but these opinions seem to refute that. At any rate, I empty the capsules out and chew the contents which is a black powder that tastes just like black licorice. Messy, yes; but since I began doing this two times a day (with peptic ulcers you are supposed to do it 3 times a day which I will begin doing) I have not had anything burn or ache or any symptoms at all. Either the iron pills and/or these have made me feel good again after escaping a blood transfusion by the skin of my teeth. I mean , I was prepped for a transfusion and an hour later the internist came in my hospital room and told me I could go home. Six weeks later I feel well again and I attribute part of that to DGL. Only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the study I read said capsules did not work on their study subjects.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt really excited about sharing this with others. This product really works. I have been dealing with acid reflux (GERD) for years now, and I have tried several remedies (pills, teas, over the counter drugs, etc.) and nothing seemed to help me. I have only been using this product for a few days now but the pain is GONE. I take one capsule in the mornings. Now I’m able to sleep at night without being interrupted with the burning pain in my chest. I will be purchasing more of this product. Thank You!!!

So far for about almost 4 year I’ve been using medication for my Acid reflux and some of them gave him side affects. Buy I always want to use an alternative of herbs to use for my reflux. My doctor did a endoscopy and colonoscopy and found what superficial ulcer and what makes me mad is that all I had to do is change my diet and I did now I’m just completely just eat fruits and vegetables cooked and raw. I don’t mind eating that but I know it going to take awhile for it to heal doing that. But sometimes I get mild reflux with that until I found this after 4 years I fell in love with it but also drinking chlorophyll with it what these two products all natural and so far no side affects I thank God for natural remedies like this that exists. I’m in love I feel amazing but still in eating fruits and veggies but I’m so happy.

I wanted a herbal option for acid reflux (did not wish to take drugs) and, after extensive research, decided to give dgl licorice a try (I prefer Nature’s Plus products). In the beginning, I took 2 pills about 20 minutes prior to each meal (I opened the capsules and mixed the powder with my mucus before swallowing). The taste was bitter but not bad to me (it makes your mouth/teeth black for a bit). As with all herbal remedies it took a few weeks before I started seeing an improvement. As bedtime was an issue for me, waking-up with the burning, I always took 2 right before I went to sleep — it made all the difference. It has been a little over a year, I have weaned off of the product, and the reflux is gone. Note: I have hypertension and, even though it is dgl I was a little concerned it might affect this condition — it did not raise my blood pressure at all. I am extremely happy with this product and feel it helped my body heal and reverse the reflux.

I originally purchased this after researching ways to help with weight loss and IBS related issue. I can honestly say these are the best!! I have read that you should not take them longer then 2 weeks at a time and then 2 weeks off. I am not sure but I highly recommend you research for your self. What I can say is holy moly they give me energy (which I was not even expecting) but not jittery at all, I just feel like a normal human being. I only take one capsule every other day and have noticed 4lbs weight loss (not even trying) and my ibs syymptoms are improving. I swear I don’t know how but they are greatly reducing my cravings so I am eating less and being more active since I have more energy. I am going to stop taking them for a week and then I will go back on them. I really honestly do just feel better. I also will mention I started taking milk thistle extract as well as cholera tablets at the same time so I am not 100% as to which or all things are helping but I don’t care I found a combo of vitamins that are working for me and I am sooo excited about it! Please research on your own the benefits of licorice root, chlorella and milk thistle.

I thought this was a decent product, but not necessarily great. I take this to soothe stomach issues that came from having ulcers, and DGL normally helps quite a bit (so long as the manufacturer does not put in an artificial sweetener like Stevia or Xylitol, which cause stomach pain for me). This product does not have much in the way of extra ingredients, but there were times I used it where my stomach would be bothering me a bit for a few days. When I discontinued using this, my stomach pains went away. The other issue is that the capsule contents tend to harden after only a couple of weeks. This may make it more challenging to digest. It is still a better product than other DGL products with artificial sweeteners, but it was not a great solution for me in the long term.

I used this product for months and it was fabulous. It helped my stomach but also reduced inflammation. I would open a capsule and empty it onto my tongue before a meal. Recently they completely changed the formula. It’s not even usable. It did the opposite of what it was supposed to do, it burned my mouth and my stomach. It tasted like salt and alcohol. I called the company and they said it was “natural variation”. Something is really wrong with the current product. It is not natural variation.
