There is a god awful stench from the bottle, and the pills themselves. It’s an overwhelming plastic-like, chemical odor. The bottle I received is not the one pictured. It’s an amber glass bottle. I don’t think this alone is a factor, but might be as far as indicating which batch this was.
ALSO, there were several capsules which were broken, some empty. There was a lot of powder (capsule content) in the bottle.

I’ve been taking this supplement, along with others recommended, to shrink my fibroids. I’ve been having my husband take it for prostate health. It’s been about 2-3 months, and my husband and some friends have noticed a difference in the size of my abdomen.
I’ll need to get another ultrasound done to confirm it.
In the meantime, I’ve definitely seen some hair regrowing at my front hairline (forehead). So, I’m happy with this product 😀

I have been using saw palmetto for several years now. I go to a urologist every 6 months for a check up. I HAD every symptom of enlarged prostate, that has ever been mentioned, AND every symptom I had was at it’s peak, meaning that on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very minor and 10 being the most extreme within each symptom, every symptom I had was maxing out at LEAST at 9, and sometimes shooting over 10. NO exaggerating at all !
I took saw palmetto berries capsules before seeing a doctor. They worked, BUT, I had to take like 6 capsules each time, and I took them like 5 or 6 times a day. This took MOST of my symptoms down to a tolerable 2 or 3 on the previous mentioned scale.
I decided its time to see a doctor about 2 years ago. Tests confirmed the swollen, enlarged prostate issue. Doctor gave me prescription drugs to take – Finasteride. BIG MISTAKE !!!!!!!!!
I made the BIG MISTAKE of taking Finasteride for almost a month and a half, and it nearly destroyed my sex drive !!!!! This NO JOKE HERE !!!!! I HAD an excellent libido, HAD the desire to have sex, literally, 4 or 5 times a week !! THAT was normal. Within a WEEK of starting Finasteride, I noticed my sex drive was lacking. I didn’t think anything of it right then. But by the second week, I couldn’t ignore it anymore, my sex drive had completely disappeared !!!! I am not joking, I Had NO desire what so ever to have sex !!! I could care less if I had it or not, didn’t look at sexy women anymore, just didn’t give a crap about anything that dealt with sex!!
So I made another appointment with my doctor, and discussed my issues with him, and we came to the conclusion that it was indeed the side effects of the Finasteride, and that I should get of them immediately! By this point, I had taken them for about a month and a half.
I switched back to taking saw palmetto, and started doing some more research on it. I found out that you need to look for saw palmetto extract, not berries or whole berries. It NEEDS to be saying EXTRACT on the label and not whole herb or whole berry. Whole herb or whole berry, the amount of mg’s per dose is usually MUCH higher than the extract, but with extract, the amount of the drug or herb is in a concentrated form, an extract, so that the amount of mgs per tablet can and should be lower. But do your homework, you STILL need to find one that has the highest mgs per tablet of EXTEACT – somewhere around 160mgs per tablet is the highest available, I think. PLEASE correct me if I am wrong and you find higher.
ALSO, you will find that some companies ADD other so called prostate herbs to the tablet like – beta sitosterol, pumpkin seed, pygeum etc. I have tried using JUST these herbs by themselves, in the highest mgs available, and I PERSONALLY have found NO BENEFIT from these. I have tried using Stinging Nettle, and when used WITH the Saw Palmetto Extract, it does seem to have a little bit of positive effect.
But, in the end, I have personally found that JUST Saw Palmetto EXTRACT, when taken correctly, works just fine for me. My doctor is very happy that I am taking it over a prescription and that I am having a positive outcome from it, and the doctor is even MORE PLEASED with how my bloodwork is coming out. The bloodwork is proof that this Saw Palmetto EXTRACT is doing exactly what I need it to do to shrink my swollen prostate.
NOTE : It DOES take several days for this to get into your system, and for it to start working.
When I first started THIS brand of Saw Palmetto EXTRACT – I started off high, IE., I started taking 2 capsules 5 times a day!! Once everything was working smoothly, I then began to taper off the amounts I was taking – slowly – I took 1 capsule per day out of the equation. So, instead of taking a total of 10 capsules a day, I weaned back to 9 for a whole week, then to 8 for a couple weeks….to where I am currently at, and that is I take 6 capsules a day, spread out over the entire day. @ capsules upon waking, 1 capsule just before lunch (10am), then 1 capsule around 4pm, then an hour or so before bed, I take the final 2 capsules. This works for ME. I can’t go ANY lower, or I will start having issues again.
BTW _ I have had NO side effects from taking the large amount of these pills.
IF you decide to start off low, just remember, IF you are not seeing the results that you need, DON’T give up on them WITHOUT trying a higher dosage FIRST !!! Give it a few weeks to get into your system, too !!
Finally, this review is NOT based on my ordering from this merchant. As of today, I have NOT received the product from them. I am basing my reviews on using this same exact product bought elsewhere.

Nice product. I can notice a great difference already. My co-worker told me about this product. He’s an older guy and I’m much younger but I decided to try it out anyway.
