Before deciding on a multivitamin to take during pregnancy I did my research, spent hours and hours comparing ingredients and the provenience of them. This was by far in my opinion the best supplement I could find at a reasonable price. These are not cheap but i would buy this product over and over again as throughout my pregnancy I felt great, had lots of energy whilst other friends suffered from iron deficiency etc. I gave birth to a strong a healthy baby boy and i’m sure these vitamins played their role.
Post pregnancy I didn’t suffer from hair loss as most women do, which again, I think must have had something to do with these vitamins. I am still taking one a day as I had one bottle left and as soon as the little one is ready to take vitamins i will be looking at the range Naturelo offer.
    I wholeheartedly recommend these.

    NEW REVIEW 11/19/2023:

Despite my review below. I didn’t re-read it.
Yes. This vitamin smells like fish….
But let me tell you …. My hair has never looked so AMAZING. It’s full. It’s soft. And my nails aren’t brittle anymore, they are thicker and stronger.
I originally did not like these. I was going to take them and deal with the smell to not waste the money. Now I got a subscribe and save for them. And I’ve told EVERYONE who compliments my hair and how long it’s gotten – to buy these.
I don’t know exactly how fast these are making my hair grow. But it’s a significant difference.

Old review from 5/2023: I read reviews back from 2021 stating the fish smell being present. And I read they changed to formula to not smell like fish. Well the bottle I got smells
Like fish. And it’s May 2023. So I’m not sure if I received an older bottle. It does come with a lemon scent to place inside. But I did not like that with the ritual brand vitamin. I always removed it. So I am not using it. Expiration on this bottle states 6/2024. Most likely won’t be purchasing again.

They used to come with a lemon scent doodad to put in the bottle, and I miss that bc they are stinky. But other than that, I have no complaints. They’re affordable and have everything I’m looking for in a prenatal.

I bought the naturelo brand back in October because it had 800 mcg of methyl folate and received the version with the lady in a black dress. I was very happy and ordered a new bottle a couple of weeks ago. I just received my new order today and it is horrible!!! I read a few comments before purchasing a second time about the fish smell of the new version with the lady dressed in purple. I thought people were exaggerating but it is so bad!!! I repeat, it’s HORRIBLE!!! You cannot even take it, the smell truly is unbearable. I am begging you, save your money and buy another prenatal. I am so disappointed, I wish I could return it.
Update January 30th: I contacted customer service and they confirmed that DHA is the ingredient causing the bad smell in the new version. They suggest getting the naturelo brand with no DHA and purchasing the DHA supplement separately. I just received the newer version and I confirm there is no smell. So look for the lady in purple, naturelo prenatal multivitamin with folate, iron and calcium. Then purchase DHA separately at your local store. I uploaded the newest version with no smell and no DHA. Hope it helps.

So I’m updating my review from 1 star to 5. Originally I’d posted 1 because of the vitamin A content. But after many hours of further reading I’ve found that the way the vitamin a is delivered to the body in these supplements is brilliant. The use of Beta Cereten is incredible. This can be absorbed by the body and converted into vitamin A on a ‘as and when needed’ basis. So the risk of ‘over dosing’ on vitamin A is very unlikely.

Has amazing side effect – my hair is growing more these days thanks to this supplement 🙂 the vegan recipe is good for overall health, and no weird taste at all. Thumbs up for creating a great product for women !

I’m updating my review from the one below because once again Naturelo proved to be a solid company. They listened to their buyers, removed the fishy DHA (you can supplement with your own DHA, Nordic Naturals has a great prenatal DHA) and upped the Choline which means I don’t need to consume 300 eggs a week – hooray! This is truly the best prenatal on the market and I will continue to repurchase. Thank you Naturelo for always striving to have the best quality multivitamins and listening to your buyers when something isn’t quite right!

    ———————————————————————————————————————–
I’ve been a loyal customer of Naturelo and have been taking these prenatals for almost a year now. I’ve been really happy with this prenatal until the recent change in formula. I can appreciate them trying to source a better DHA in the new formulation – the reason I like their brand is because I can trust the quality of their ingredients, but there’s just no way someone in their first trimester will be able to keep these down with the strong smell of algae. If they aren’t able to source a good quality DHA that doesn’t smell, I rather they remove DHA completely and I will supplement outside of the prenatal. I’m also disappointed they reduced the amount of Choline as it is so difficult for me to get enough Choline with food. There’s only so many eggs I can eat! I will continue to take these until I get pregnant and hopefully they will modify the formulation by then.

I was worried about the smell after reading all the reviews. The pills do smell somewhat but if you really smell them, you’ll understand they smell like seaweed or algae which is the source of one of the vitamins. This is a NATURAL source of the vitamin and means that you aren’t getting something that is synthetic. For those that are also worried, they don’t actually taste like they smell. There is no flavor to them. I think the issue of the smell could be resolved if the company did these in a gel pill instead of a capsule. I like that these have natural sources of vitamins and minerals. In the synthetic form, some of these vitamins can actually be dangerous once you reach a certain level but your body needs more during pregnancy. It’s a win/win. I also like that these contain a wider array of vitamins and minerals compared to other prenatal out there. I do use the NOW brand with DHA however, those are on back order and needed a replacement prenatal. This one fit the bill for most of the same array as well as being made with the natural sources. I already take Baby and Me 2 Choline/DHA to stack my Choline intake so I don’t have an issue with the DHA being removed in this prenatal. My dogs take fish oil pills and I just added one of those to replace what the Now brand has in it. I also take Inositol and Berberine as supplements with this. For reference, I have PCOS and have had pretty crazy menstrual cycles after a miscarriage 9 months ago but also was getting extra long cycles since post pregnancy 3 years ago. Between pairing a great prenatal with the Inositol/Berberine, my body is back to a normal schedule like before I had my son. I’m now ovulating with upwards of 12-15 eggs a month (at 38 y/o) and my Reproductive Endocrinologist stated everything looks great with my ovaries and reproductive system now. I attribute this to a high quality prenatal which goes a long way to help prep the body to be ready to get pregnant. I’ll update if I do end up getting pregnant again and how long that takes me so you have a reference on these pills. I will be trying for the first time post miscarriage next month. Until then, happy healthy pregnancies and baby dust to all those trying.

I have been taking naturelo for a few months and loved these vitamins. Tasteless, easy on the stomach, great ratios of important vitamins, and in a whole food formulation which was important to me. However the latest bottle I received in September 2020 has a new bottle design and new formula. Not only does the new formula have less choline, calcium, and DHA than the older formula (?!? Why would they reduce the amount of important nutrients??), but also the formula is utterly REVOLTING. I opened the bottle and got blasted with a disgusting whiff of rotting fish. The pills now strongly taste of fish when you place it on your tongue. My fingers smell like fish after I touch a pill. All of which is completely odd, since the amount of DHA from algae that would cause fishiness is HALVED in this formula as compared to the older, completely tasteless, amazing formula! Utterly bizarre. I’ve even placed the bottle in the fridge to chill them, which made the fishy smell a tiiiiiny bit less potent at first, but not significantly so. Also, tmi, but now my pee has a vaguely fishy smell to it, it’s super gross. And burps as well. The old formula never gave me a single problem, and I’m really upset that naturelo has “improved” their vitamins… There was absolutely no need to change these!! I know I didn’t get a bad bottle since all recent reviews I have found on multiple other sites also mention the revolting new formula. I am extremely upset and I don’t think I will be continuing with these vitamins. Which is a shame because these were really, really great for me for many months. I just can’t take the rotting fish smell and taste.
