This, combined with a daily dose of B complex, vitamin D and 5htp has improved my ability to function exponentially. I’m still a piece of sh*t, but at least I get out of bed every day. (For reference: diagnosed clinical depression, bipolar disorder, GAD, take alprazolam as-needed, otherwise unmedicated.) Give it a shot. It’s worth it to avoid SSRIs and MAOIs. It can have some interactions with other meds, though, so make sure to do your research and talk to a real doc.

Updated review* A friend recommended SAMe and so I ordered Natural Factors SAMe and felt absolutely amazing! It feels like a miracle, after a lifetime of depression I’ve finally found something that makes me feel joyful and enthusiastic about life again. Yay!
Then the same friend recommended a different brand the one she has been taking for years… and it didn’t work 😢 the brand was Jarrow.
I was heartbroken, I thought at first SAMe wasn’t a long term solution, until I decided to try the Natural Factors SAMe again 😃 yay! It works!
So it got me thinking, and I remembered reading the reviews for both products and they were very divided, one would say it was a miracle and the next said that it did nothing…. I have a theory, our brain chemicals need to recognize the foreign proteins as our own and each brand’s formula contains slightly different nuances which will either match your brain chemistry or not… What I’m saying is that if a brand doesn’t work for you try another. 🙂 because SAMe really is a miracle, for me it is anyway.
I have also noticed that I am much more confident 🤷🏼♀️ Not sure why but it is a welcome change.

I love the ease of using subscribe and save. I just wish supplements (as a whole) were not so darn expensive.

I use this to treat depression and it has less side effects than prescription meds. I have never had any problems with this brand specially. I’m afraid to switch even though it’s not exactly cheap. I take 600mg but might try even more. Really seems to work.
Beware though, I have gotten symptoms similar to withdrawals while increasing my dose. It’s bizarre. But it happened with all 3 brands I have tried so I think it’s just my brain, not this brand.

I take 400mg per day and have been for 2 months now. I have used 3 other variations of anti-depressant in the past (which failed to do much for me). I feel as those SAMe has helped me maintain a healthy mood much better than over the counter meds. It’s much more affordable, accessible and has no side effects (for me anyway). I have been able to tackle stress quite well and I’m very pleased to have come across this supplement. Thanks natural factors for producing a great product!

They are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach, which is what I did. They gave me a yucky stomach ache, which is a recognized side-effect. So, it seems like the active ingredient is indeed working. Too early to know about other effects.
