Amazon Customer –
I took two of these along with a bite of ice cream and my back felt better that day.
The french vanilla ice cream has enough fat to kick off dissolving and digesting
the capsules.
I’ve taken 6 at a time of another brand with no relief, Natural Factors is stronger and
helped my back.

My knees love this product!
Rita P. Swift –
2003, I came in from working in the garden, and felt I had been hit by a truck! I have osteoarthritis and it can really cause stiffness
joint pain! I turned on the noon news and started watching an interview with a man who was a runner, but had arthritis causing
servere pain in his knees. He had discovered Celadrin cream and found it to help him to start running again. I called my
health store, and they told me they had Celadrin softgels in stock. I bought my first bottle and have been taking three softgels
a day for the past 10 years. I have very little pain now and can keep up with the house and pets. I have had no side effects
and if I cause a pain from lifting something, it disappears within a short time. I started having arthritis pain in my 60’s and now in
my 70’s, with the help of Celadrin, I have very little pain and take no prescriptions or over the counter pain relief.. It’s amazing
without pain how much healthier and active one feels. I never bought the cream, but i am sure it works well.
Reviews I’d Want My Kids To Read Before Buying –
All other current Celadrin and Cetyl Myristoleate options have significant issues, at this point in time, including safety issues with one brand, and so this one wins by default, for being safer, while adding unneeded fat to the daily intake (when esterified fatty-acids don’t require a fat-base to work, only lipase and an empty stomach). The main brands today (Fall of 2024) are Natural Factors, CoreCeutimin, and Swanson. Sadly, all other major sources of either the combined esterified fatty-acid version (Celadrin) or the single esterified fatty-acid version (Cetyl Myristoleate or CMO) have been discontinued, because manufacturers lost patrons by failing to include basic instructions on how these products actually work, such that they developed a reputation for not working at all, when they actually work very well when used correctly.
Firstly, you MUST take lipase with your Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate / CMO, or it won’t work, but you must NEVER take a combined product containing lipase, because the lipase in the product degrades the esterified fatty-acid while in storage before you ever take any of the pills. You must take your esterified fatty-acid capsule along with a separate lipase capsule, so that the lipase works on the active fatty-acids in your body and not in the pill bottle.
Secondly, you MUST take it on an empty stomach with the lipase, at least two hours before food and at least four hours after food for maximum effect. It must be on a fully empty stomach with enough time to be digested prior to eating. Some take it in the morning, wait an hour and a half to eat, and then assume that the stomach won’t begin to empty for another half an hour. Some take it four hours after dinner, before bedtime. I take mine at night, going to bed, when I’ve had an empty stomach for many hours and when I won’t have anything other than water until I get up in the morning.
Third, for optimal results (it still works without this step, but not as well), you must prime your joints with Glucosamine for at least four weeks (if not more like nine or ten) before beginning Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate therapy, because esterified fatty-acids are more readily absorbed and utilized by the joints if they’ve been primed with Glucosamine and if you take Glucosamine earlier in the day when using an esterified fatty-acid at night on an empty stomach. Never take your Glucosamine with your esterified fatty-acids, because Glucosamine is a sugar and must be taken with food or it causes an independent insulin spike.
But, after all those instructions, there is still the core issue of choosing your supplement, and, for that, you MUST be careful to watch out for added ingredients that can cause issues you may not be aware of. And, at this point, I’m going to go into the medical issues here, such that, if you’re not really interested in why you should avoid other brands on the market at this time, you can skip the rest of this review. This covers issues of added ingredients and fertility and pregnancy and glucose issues as well as general issues of how esterified fatty-acids will work best without causing any other problems for the person taking them. But, in short, this brand is best today, given all current options.
First, covering the most important issue here, if you are pregnant or may become pregnant, you MUST NOT take Turmeric and you should be avoiding MSM as well (which are the added ingredients in CoreCeutimin’s version of Cetyl Myristoleate. Each of these added ingredients has negative impact on fertility and developing babies. Turmeric (curcumin) causes outright birth defects. Also, again if you’re a woman who is pregnant or may become pregnant, you should always use Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate as a single-product, without Glucosamine or any other additive, because even Glucosamine can cause early-stage miscarriage by degrading the endometrial lining formation and growth, and it can prevent implantation in the first place, if taken often, such that you may lose a child or you may have a child with low birth weight and issues of being malnourished. It’s best for all women of child-bearing age to take Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate as a single product, without additives, so that you can control what you take with it and what you don’t take with it. There is zero evidence that fatty-acids cause danger to a child. So you can take a lower dose of your Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate product every day for joint health, with lipase, and it won’t harm a child. However, nearly all additives have a negative impact or even a danger associated with them, when it comes to fertility and pregnancy. The worst of these is Turmeric / Curcumin, which causes actual birth defects and which also causes miscarriage.
Second, to the second most important issue after fertility and pregnancy, if you have any glucose metabolism issues or are a person engaged in intermittent fasting, NEVER take Glucosamine away from food. Glucosamine doesn’t require an empty stomach to work and is, as to its structure and function in the body, a sugar molecule that triggers an insulin response. This means that Glucosamine needs to be taken, optimally, with your food, especially with a meal containing protein, so that it doesn’t add an insulin spike so much as a tiny increase alongside what you were already eating. I always take Glucosamine with my carbs for the day, so that it doesn’t ruin my fasting and my low-insulin-level that I’ve worked for hours to achieve by fasting for half the day. If you are diabetic, that means you MUST take Glucosamine with food and never away from food, but, for everyone else, it’s still ideal to always take Glucosamine with food. One of the products most commonly sold today actually combines Glucosamine and Cetyl Myristoleate, when the fatty-acid needs to be taken with lipase on an empty stomach and the Glucosamine needs to be taken with food, which isn’t the ideal or even the safest way to take those supplements.
To be perfectly clear, the problem with every other option for Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate is the manufacturers’ choice to use added ingredients that are entirely unnecessary. For Swanson, they at least (at this point) only add too much fat, instead of adding ingredients that are unsafe for many women to take. Specifically, Swanson uses a very low dose of the active ingredient with a very high dose of added fat. To achieve relief using their product requires too many capsules with too much added fat to be healthy for the average adult. That said, Swanson is the second-best option for esterified fatty-acids on the market today, because it’s only a problem of added fat and it won’t cause birth defects or insulin spiking. Meanwhile, CoreCeutimin, the top brand on this site, actually adds Turmeric and MSM as filler-agents and tricking-agents to make people think their product causes pain-relief by use of anti-inflammatories, when the actual result of using that product is risk of birth defects or miscarriage or infertility. The dangers of Turmeric are well-documented and, while it’s one of the best things for joint health, it’s not an ideal ingredient if you are pregnant or within three months of becoming pregnant. And MSM is safe, to a degree, but has a few studies showing issues with lining and issues that would make me nervous, and so it’s also something we generally say to avoid during pregnancy or when about to become pregnant. And then, for another issue, they combine Glucosamine into their product, which causes insulin spike. Glucosamine, as stated, is one we use sparingly and typically say to avoid during pregnancy and approaching pregnancy, due to possibility of miscarriage or failure to implant or low birth-weight due to malnourishment, but we also recommend only taking it with food because it’s an actual sugar that shouldn’t be taken away from food.
During my holistic education, we learned that all esterified fatty-acids require the aforementioned two core changes in order to be utilized by the body. First, you must take lipase. Second, you must take the product on an empty stomach. If you prime with Glucosamine first, it works better, but it still works to a lesser degree without glucosamine, allowing a woman to take esterified fatty-acids without danger for an entire year of her life, still receiving benefit to a degree that my observations lead me to label as “at least half-benefit, if not two-thirds benefit” when comparing to using Glucosamine alongside the esterified fatty-acids, before adding Glucosamine back into her regimen after her baby is born. Again, empty stomach is key for any esterified fatty-acid to be absorbed into the bloodstream and work its way on damaged joints. But there is zero need for and zero actual benefit to the processing and utilization of esterified fatty-acids when adding any other ingredients to the capsule itself. In fact, adding Turmeric / Curcumin and MSM as anti-inflammatories tricks the user into thinking they are seeing results when they may not be using the product correctly and may not be benefiting from the product. Also, esterified fatty-acids are very delicate and difficult to force into the body, which is why we need an empty stomach for them to work. They won’t absorb well unless they are virtually the only thing you are absorbing, such that it’s best to avoid adding anything to them when taking them. Personally, I see a slight downtick in performance of the product when taking with Calcium and Vitamin K2 at night or when I forget another supplement and tack that on. I do best, always, taking Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate with lipase and water and nothing else on an empty stomach, and so have all of those I’ve managed on esterified fatty-acid therapy.
This product contains 1050 mg of active ingredient with a total fat content of 1500 mg, for just about a third of the fat being unnecessary for a much larger dose of the active ingredients, which makes this the best as to fat composition. Then, it contains no added actives, such that you are not triggering insulin response or taking anything that can cause infertility or birth defects or miscarriages, while you’re also avoiding taking any added ingredients to screw up fasting or trigger insulin release. Overall, this is the best on the market today, because it doesn’t contain the added ingredients that make other products undesirable. That said, for a fallback when this is sold out, we use Swanson’s higher-fat version with added oils it’s better to avoid taking. We never use CoreCeutimin’s products because, while only one option contains the most dangerous ingredient for women (Turmeric / Curcumin), they both contain added Glucosamine in a high enough dose to trigger insulin response. A mere half-a-gram of sugar is enough to trigger insulin response, and so it’s vital to avoid Glucosamine in a Celadrin or Cetyl Myristoleate product that should be taken away from all food on a fully emptied stomach with lipase.
Good luck finding what works for you. At this point, I’ve got all of those I counsel using this product, because it’s the best option available.
J. McCreery –
These worked really well BEFORE I had a Shockwave treatment (focused ultrasound) that further damaged my knee instead of healing it like it was intended. Now Celadrin helps but not as much. So I guess it works best with milder issues like arthritis and minor joint injuries.
