I use this after my workout – 1 scoop in a sealable bottle with one of those metal strainer balls in it. I’ve had no problems with it being too clumpy after being shaken. I’ve only tried the chocolate so far, but the taste is pleasant, and after about 6 months of using it, I still find it pleasant to drink. Finally, because it’s whey-free, I don’t end up with diarrhea and gas. What more could one ask for?
I’ve also tried the vanilla caramel. The taste was initially offputting, but got better as I got used to it. The saltiness really helps. I also note that the powder is finer than the chocolate, and blends better.

For some reason it’s the only protein that my body tolerates. No bloating and it tastes good.

I really wanted to like this protein. Up until Carnivor I have only used whey isolates and this was different so I wanted to give it a try. I read most of the reviews here and read a lot on other sites. I knew going into it that it might not taste all that good but the gains would be worth it. Well I’ve used it straight for 7 days now and I can say confidentially that this product makes me feel sick to my stomach after drinking it, rendering me on the verge of vomiting for several hours after. I will be trying to get my money back, but will not hold out hope for that one.
Taste: Out of the dozen or so flavors from different brands I have tried, this one is the worst or next to the worst. Chocolate is one of the primary flavors of protein shakes, and if you cannot make a Chocolate flavor good you are doing something wrong. The actual flavor is hard to describe, there is a hint of chocolate followed by burnt toast, and that smell of when it is just about to rain, but in taste form. lol I’ve tried adding up to half a liter of water to the bottle to see if I can thin it out and just chug it down. That does seem to help but it foams voraciously. Which leads me to.
Mixing: I have a regular blender bottle with a spring ball. After a vigorous shaking the bottle will be full with foam which is hard to drink and leads to the unpleasant after effect of burping up that lovely chocolate/burnt toast/almost rain flavor. It seems to mix fairly well; I didn’t notice and chunks (thank goodness), just a lot of foam.
After effects: I got past the taste but, like I mentioned above I felt queasy for an hour or two after. I’m glad I was taking this post workout because if I had done it as a pre-workout I can only imagine how much worse it would make the workout. After seven days of taking it I have not seen any gains and or fluctuations in my strength or body composition. If it didn’t make me feel so uncomfortable I’d give it a longer chance but this experiment has been long enough.
Conclusion: I wanted to share my personal opinion because everyone is different and someone out there may very well like the taste and have tremendous gains from it. My hat is off to you gentlemen that this works for, but for me Carnivor is a bust. I will be returning to whey protein which agrees with me better.
Lessons Learned: When in doubt buy the smallest container!

I have to start out eith the negstives here.
First, the flavor. I have tried chocolate. Its TERRIBLE. Hands doen the worst tasting protien I have ever used. Second, its very difficult to mix in a shaker. You really need a blender to fully mix it with just water.
Positives (and why I will buy again!). It is very pure. Only a couple ingredience, this protein is exceptionally clean. As someone intolerant to both whey and soy, my options are limited. Overall, thi product is fairly priced and is a great protein supplement if you can grt over the taste and the mixing challenge!

Simply said, I love this protein and it’s by far the best I’ve tried. I did whey for years, tried egg proteind powder, and even tried just eating lots of tuna and egg white omelettes.
Decided to try the one thing I hadn’t yet, beef, and I’m so glad I did. I do a scoop before and after my weight lifting sessions, and I get a slight push that lets me lift heavier with an extra rep. I noticed an increase in vascularity as well.
I don’t think it helps me recover faster than whey or egg.
A huge advantage to this for me is that whey got me pretty bloated. Since I take it before a workout that was always pretty uncomfortable. And afterwards isn’t as big of problem, it just always made me feel gross. I also noticed with whey, because of the dairy, I would get zits if I drank too much (that’s just a me problem, but be aware if you drink a lot of milk and have acne)
As far as flavor goes, I’ve tried the vanilla caramel and the strawberry. The strawberry is just OK, it tastes like a stale strawberry wafer.
Love, love, love the vanilla caramel!!! 🙂 It reminds me of the inside of a heath bar, or vanilla toffee coffee creamer, but not as sweet.
As far as mixability goes, it does tend to glob up. My method to mix it nicely is to put about 1/4 cup water in a 16 oz shaker bottle, then the protein power, shake it real hard for about a minute, let it sit to dissolve ~2 minutes, shake again, and fill the rest of the shaker bottle with water and shake some more. It gets kind of foamy, so leave some room at the top. That’ll get most (if not all) dissolved.
If I have extra time, I mix it in the blender with some ice cubes. (Best tasting and most easily mixed method)
Overall I’m noticing greater gains on this protein. Since it measures protein to calorie the same as whey, I chalk it up to the bonus anabolic benefits and the natural creatine. It could also be attributed to the fact I’m more comfortable during my workouts without the physical constraint of bloating, so I’m more comfortable to do more.
I definitely recommend this for anyone who’s plateaued on whey/casein/egg, gets zits/bloated from dairy, or just wants to try something different.
So long as I keep lifting, this will be in my cupboard. 😉

The powder tastes better than other products. Good ample supply in this size. Not your usual whey based protein. Would buy this product again.

I use a handheld milkshake blender. I do cheat and use fairlife protein shakes (also lactose free) as the base to make even higher protein shakes. This stuff is great. I’ve been culking like crazy. I lose between 0.5 to 2lbs per week, but I’m visibly gaining muscle and measurably gaining strength.
