Not too bad if you want something a little higher in protein but definitely much better than their “protein bars”

Good texture, good flavor. A nice treat.

I really like these protein wafer bars. They’re a great protein-filled snack for mid-afternoon or pre/post workout. This particular flavor, white chocolate and vanilla, is 1.4 ounces and has 210 calories with 13g of fat, 15g of carbs, 10g of protein, 1g of fiber and 5g of sugar. The bars are not very sweet, but contain a variety of sweeteners including sugar, maltitol (a sugar alcohol) and steviol glycosides. From a taste perspective, they are lightly sweet (without any aftertaste) and have a satisfying crunchiness from the wafer layers. The filling does have a protein powder-like flavor to it, but that’s to be expected for most protein bars, and I don’t mind it. The bar is enrobed in a “white chocolate” coating, which again, is not very sweet. The downside is that the coating can melt if you leave it in a hot car or backpack (mine arrived having melted in transit). Once it has re-solidified, it becomes a bit of a mess to eat since little bits of coating fall out of the wrapper as you eat it. I wasn’t familiar with this brand and that’s likely because they’re made in New Zealand. Overall, these make a great protein-based snack that satisfies both my hunger and my sweet tooth.

These are fantastic tasting protein bars and one of the best things about them is there is virtually no unpleasant aftertaste of artificial sweeteners. They are quite filling as well and if I have one at breakfast they keep me full for at least 5 hours or so. The texture is a bit more on the firm/chewy side, the wafer is crispy but the non-wafer parts are so dense that it keeps it on the chewy side.

I eat protein bars daily and am always curious to try new kinds. The wafer style is one that I don’t think gets enough love comparing to some of the other kinds like the chewy style bars… so I was interested to see what these ones are like. I got the vanilla flavor. The vanilla one is dipped in chocolate, so the entire bar is coated in chocolate…. if you handed it to me and told me to taste it, I don’t think I would pick vanilla as the flavor. It tastes chocolate to me… then the chocolate coating on the bar is the kind that basically starts to disintegrate easily, so if you take this bar out of your bag and it’s touched anything while in transit, you’re going to have little chocolate particles getting everywhere, and they melt easily. It’s just messy, not convenient, taste is not what I expected. It’s not bad, just not great.

Pros:
Flavor: The vanilla flavor is surprisingly enjoyable and satisfying.
Protein Content: The 11g of protein per bar makes it a convenient post-workout snack or on-the-go option.
Nutrient Profile: The overall macronutrient ratio is decent, with an OK balance of protein, carbs, and fat. Would be a good boost somewhere in the day.
Cons:
Texture: B bit chalky and dry.
Fat Content: The 13g of fat per bar might be higher than desired for some, especially those watching their fat intake.
Calorie Count: With 210 calories per bar, it’s not considered a low-calorie snack.
Weight: Despite being a 40g bar, it’s relatively light, which might not be filling for everyone.
Overall:
While the MUSASHI Protein Wafer Bar offers a convenient and tasty protein-packed snack, it’s important to consider the higher fat content and calorie count. If you’re looking for a satisfying and nutritious snack with a good balance of macronutrients, this might be a suitable choice. However, if you’re strictly watching your calories or fat intake, you might want to explore other options.

These aren’t the most delicious bars, but they don’t taste bad either. Due to the wafer they have that crispy cardboard-esque quality… but they do serve their purpose as far as being high protein and low sugar.

I bought these when they were $14. No they’re twice that!! They’re tasty but not worth what they’re asking.
