Very moisturizing and product works wonderfully on my very dry skin, so I’ll keep it. Scents are very personal; This one seemed to get consistently good reviews that it was mild and pleasant. Scents are very difficult to gauge from a name or a review. To me, it smells like play-doh. Its not unpleasant, but not particularly pleasing. Anyway, again, feels wonderful. Additionally, the container is lovely, but does not screw or hold tight, so it falls open in your bag. One of the reasons I purchased this product was to not have to carry a liquid lotion in my bag and risk the bag or its contents getting soiled, but this doesn’t solve the problem since the top can fall off. 5 stars for moisturizing properties and minus 1 for lid and smell.

Moon Valley Organics is one of my favorite companies. I have been buying their products for years, since we first encountered them at Pike Peak marketplace. I got home and tried the lotion bar, and immediately went in search of a way to contact them and buy more. This is not a company which is new to the scene. They do not buy packaged pellets (which are more often parafin. Their products are made with herbs, honey, beeswax from their own farm. It is real, actually what they say it is, sustainably harvested.
I was surprised to see them on Amazon. It works well for me because shipping to Hawaii is so expensive I usually order from them once a year and put in a good sized order. Now I can restock as needed.
Their lotion bars are a little luxury at a very reasonable price. Their soaps, lip balms, salves and honeys are 2wonderful too (but I do not think they had their entire line up).
They are packaged in nice little tins which means you can carry them (well, I do,) and they are nice little gifts. Make sure to get one for yourself. Their products are wonderful, and they are also terrific to support since they are doing good things with their farm, and promoting the welfare of pollinators.
I have use their medicinal salves/ balms too, and they are very good. They do not make wild claims but do know their herbs, and promote them for known benefits. This is the first time I have bought their rose geranium bar, and it really smells nice, has just a hint of honey (from their genuine beeswax). I can not say enough good things about their products, and am so very happy to see that they are still around… and as long as I am here, should probably buy another because I can see these selling out, and I do not want to run out.

It didn’t come out of the tin in one solid bar as the pictures suggest – the consistency is more like lip balm. Not a big deal. Just a small amount easily emulsified in my hand and when I smoothed it on after a shower, I was impressed by how amazing it feels and smells. Even dry areas like feet and elbows felt great. It’s not greasy at all, just good ingredients that soften and moisturize. This lotion is perfect for me because I have dry skin but like to travel light and don’t always like to use hotel lotion. This significantly increases bag space and I need more of it.

I use this pretty regularly and it has lasted a long time. It smells great, does not irritate my overly sensitive skin, and comes in a cute neutral container so I don’t mind leaving it out.
I have tried a couple lotion bars without reordering but I will be reordering this one here soon.

This lotion bar exceeds my expectation. I had no clue what to expect in a lotion bar this being my first one that I bought on a whim. Oh man is it great though. Soothed my dry skin within the first week, looks like it’ll last me a few months and compact and able to take anywhere during travel. Loving it so far and will most likely buy another!

I’ve come back for more – I have bought this twice now.
The first time I bought this was because it was a bar – and when traveling by air, I would not have to put it into that dinky ziplock bag because it is not a liquid. I did not expect to love it this much.
The scent is very light, slightly vanilla – but not that awful, cloying, fake vanilla that is nauseatingly sweet. This is very, very light on the vanilla note, with a hint of honey underneath – but again, extremely mild. I do not like fragrance very much, it almost always gives me a headache, and this was actually very pleasant.
Now, this lotion feels amazing on – it is light, not too oily nor greasy. It does take a bit of time to work in, but there are no “bad” things in this lotion that will dry out your skin and have you returning for more lotion. And within a few minutes, the lotion is all soaked in, and it feels great.
And, if my teenagers love it, I am even more impressed. Since they “borrowed” my first one, I ordered a second!

A couple months later, this is my go-to. I learned that right after a hair wash, I do need something more immediate, so I use the Jergens, but the rest of the time, I use this. All in all, my hands feel less dry, and I need relief less often. I absolutely love it. I do have to wait a little longer for absorption, but that’s an easy adjustment.
As for the smell, it disappeared soon after I started using it regularly. It’s not nose-blindness, either, so I think if you just leave the tin open a bit, the smell will dissipate. Will try with my next tin.

I really wanted to like this. I’m 48, have very dry hands, & have used Jergen’s Ultra for decades. I’m flying soon & wanted an alternative.
This looks shiny on the skin, but feels waxy. Maybe it works long term, but in the moment of application, there’s no satisfying, hydrating feeling, like water on a hot day.
I got the lemon vanilla, and it’s so strong my scent-sensitive son had to move away from me. Nearly an hour later, I can still smell it, so I’m afraid to rub my eyes. My skin also looks shiny still, and feels a little slick, but it’s not greasy and won’t come off on my clothes.
