Compared to other bar soaps I’ve used, one bar of this seems to last forever. It doesn’t seem very drying. The scent is light and clean. Nice to try.

I love this soap! It leaves my skin soft and doesn’t dry my skin out. And it lasts a long time! I’m introducing it to all my friends and family.

I started using Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap in late 2013 to stave off problems with dry skin associated with winter weather — and it’s the only soap I’ve used since. Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap is not a one-stop-shop solution for dry skin, but an essential part of a skin care regimen. It cleans well – gives you a “squeaky clean feeling without leaving your skin feeling taut and stripped of its natural moisture; rinses off well and quickly. If you want to know what “clean” smells like after using Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap. There is a slight natural/organic odor while lathering, but all of goes away upon rinsing; the smell of clean = the smell of nothing. No clashing in scents should you decide to spritz on a little fragrance. (Ideal for folks who work in place where strong scents/fragrances are best avoided). It’s gentle enough to be used on the face; when traveling, my soap doubles as my face wash. Not only is it gentle to your skin, it’s gentle to the environment, too, by using a natural and renewable of one its ingredients – lanolin. Packaging is also minimal – just waxed paper.
Expensive? Not. You may spend $6+ to $7+ per 5.5 oz bar of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap (depending from whom you buy it) but it will outlast any other bath bar (yes, even those humongous soap on a rope thingies). Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap is a triple milled soap. What does that mean for us? It means we get a bar of soap that has less air and moisture and more of the soap compared to non-triple milled products. And as long as you keep your bar of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap drained after use (i.e. not sitting in a pool of water), then your bar of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap won’t end up dissolving into a pile of goop. Just for the fun it, try out a bar of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap and see how long it will last you. Then do the same with a regular bar of soap. Then do the math.
Stay clean, y’all.

Have been using this soap ever since I discovered it in the U.K. Glad to be able to get it here. It is amazingly gentle on skin and smells great!
Eric –
Great natural aroma. Really good lather. Nice and hard, seems like a single bar will last long. Even using it for shaving has gone really well so far.
Tobias –
Gentile smell. Leaves skin nice and soft. Less expensive than my previous brand of soap. 3 pack is nice and convenient as well.
KA –
It smells good, feels creamy and rich and cleans well. The bar size is also good. Id say its slightly bigger than your average bar of soap.

This is some of the finest soap I have ever used. Gentle to the skin and does not leave you feeling dried out like most bar soap. It produces a rich and luxurious lather when used. The only down side is the perfume scent is quit heavy. I had to let it sit out unwrapped for quite awhile, which helped some but after the first use it tamed down quite a bit.
