We are big LMNT fans at our house but the first time I heard about this flavor it sounded gross. But I saw an instagram commercial where they warmed it up and we had a few free samples so I gave it try – and I LOVED it. It tastes like hot chocolate but without the calories and ALL the good stuff LMNTs offers. I love taking it backpacking or just sipping on it at night as I wind down with a good book.

I put half of the packet in my coffee on the days i run. It mixes well and tastes great! A whole packet is too salty.

1000mg of sodium is exactly that, a ton of salt, and no amount of chocolate will mask the overwhelming taste of salt. If you are extremely deficient in your sodium intake and don’t mind swallowing warm salt water, you know, the kind we used to gargle with as a kid when we had a sore throat, then there is a chance you might be able to drink this. As for getting your electrolytes these don’t offer a great balance of sodium, magnesium and potassium so not sure why anyone would need this product. Unfortunately, this cannot be returned so I’ll see if I have any luck on my Buy Nothing Group.
UPDATE 1: After doing some research I stand corrected that the ratio of these electrolytes can be beneficial. I love salt and use it generously on my foods but as for in a beverage it is just too much for me. I had no takers on my Buy Nothing Group, so I gave it another try and, based on reviews added, a lot more water in addition to heavy cream. Even though this diluted both the chocolate flavor and salt it was more tolerable. I should have paid more attention to the honest reviews regarding how overwhelmingly salty it tastes. I was just so excited that they made a hot chocolate that fits into a keto lifestyle I was swayed by all the positive taste reviews.
UPDATE 2: After trying several ways to consume this product I have found adding extra hot water and blending in a blender with a little heavy cream makes a DELICIOUS frothy hot chocolate!!! I have also added it to my blended chocolate Vital Collagen Peptide Protein shakes for an extra chocolatey flavor. I know I was adamant that I would NEVER buy this again but alas, I was wrong, and do plan on purchasing it again especially during the cold winter months. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the high price.

I don’t know what that lady who mentions ‘creamy, tasty and chocolaty’ in her review was smoking, but NO. This is medicine to me. I tolerate it and it does the job. This flavor is my second batch. One mentions try it “hot”. I had not tried it hot. I just did. I liked it just as little as when I drank it cold. My chiropractor recommended it for recovery from workouts. Both LMNT products I used work well. But tasty? Def not. Neither of them are tasty. Very salty….THAT’s the point. You want tasty? Buy some other sugary product.

I’m impressed with the taste, it tastes far more like a rich hot chocolate than I imagined an electrolyte based sugar free drink could! As a type 1 diabetic who follows low carb it’s awesome to be able to drink a satisfying cup of hot chocolate without worrying about my blood sugar going crazy! I’m excited to try the caramel chocolate one next.

Like many have said, the chocolate doesn’t dissolve in cold water very well, so I tried my ninja blender with some ice added in. I loved it!!!! The perfect iced drink for a hot summer afternoon. Iced Capp’s used to be my addiction. Due to Type 2 Diabetes, I quit those cold turkey three years ago, and miss them especially in the summer. This makes a very nice substitute, without any of the other crap in store bought iced coffees.
($64 is a lot to spend on something if you aren’t sure whether you will like it or not, so before I bought this one, I had purchased the LMNT sample pack. It had one chocolate packet, not the salted caramel, but close enough to try before I committed to this one)

I am so impressed with this drink! I needed a low glycemic electrolyte replenisher but like many people with mold allergies I cannot tolerate citric acid, which is grown on mold. That rules out most gatorades and fruity electrolyte drinks, so I had been mixing diet juices with plain lmnt. But it’s winter time now and so warm drinks are more appropriate, and lo and behold there is a sweet hot version on the block!
I have found that half a packet per twelve ounces of water works really well, and I bet that it would be even better made with a nondairy milk base instead of water. I add a splash of vanilla creamer to mine and it is so fun to drink; it has a very light flavor (not intensely chocolate at all), that is really comforting.

I really was not expecting to be crazy about this product, but I was so wrong. This product is amazing and I don’t miss coffee at all. I bought both the caramel and chocolate and it is so warm, comforting and delicious all morning long. And I can have them in the evening without worrying about having too much caffeine. I brew 16 ounces into a travel mug for one packet of the product and it is perfect, not too salty and plenty flavorful.

I have dysautonomia, which means I need to be hydrated all the time and drinking “sports drinks” such as Gatorade and all that. However, those are full of sugar and chemicals. I found in this product a balanced, low-calories, delicious drink to have every single day after my lunch. It’s like my dessert 🍨. But hot and delicious. I enjoy it until the last zip. It’s a little bit pricy, but it totally worth it!
