We (husband and I) always like to try different electrolyte/hydration products. Dynatech Zero Sugar Electrolyte Drink Mix was okay and would get us by in the hot summer days over ice, but its not our favorite. While its sugar free, it has sugar replacement and has a bit of a weird aftertaste, almost reminds me of gelatin (flavor not texture). But the passion fruit flavoring really does taste like passion fruit, so its a weird combo.
I prefer to use more water with my hydration packs than the recommended amount as I feel they are too concentrated and I’d prefer to finish a pack over several bottles of water. However, this drink mix doesn’t seem as concentrated as the others I’ve tried (just an observation). If someone gave it to me to try (a la Amazon Vine), I’m happy to have and enjoy, but I would rather purchase another product from another brand when I run out.

These hydration Electrolyte drink mix packets from Dynatech come in sealed and informative bags, so you can see what’s in them. They do not use sugar or stevia, nor sucralose or artificial sweeteners similar to that. They use allulose – which has been approved by the FDA. I’m a little bit leary of sweeteners in general with so many of them being linked to health issues. Allulose has not yet been accepted in places like Europe or Canada. Something to think about. Each packets also has some good vitamin ingredients and electrolytes.
The packets open easily with perforations at the top of of each packet. They are mixed with 17 ounces of water, meaning you’re going to have to use a very large cup, bottle, or a protein shake bottle – something like that. Powder mixes with water very well. Stirred mine with a spoon for maybe 20 seconds and it was fully dissolved. Once mixed I did not notice that any of the ingredients separating and sinking ir the bottom or floating to top of the beverage.
Taste: like most electrolyte drinks you’re going to taste the salt, but it’s well balanced with sweet and it’s thirst quenching. I enjoyed the lemon much more than the grapefruit. I love grapefruit but I found this one a bit odd. The smell of grapefruit is there as you bring the glass up to your face, but the taste is I thought was lacking grapefruit flavoring. It was still decent and I will gladly drink the rest of them. I won’t knock a star off for the grapefruit taste because it’s still good – just not what I expected.
We enjoy hiking/backpacking and I am going to be putting these packets in with our hike gear for on the go hydration out in the mountains.
If you do sports or go to the gym, these would be a great way to hydrate.
The recommendations on the bag say one packet per day.

It’s been about a week and half having atleast two of these daily. And let me just say for one i love the taste, especially of the lemon one.
I’m not big on grapefruit t flavored anything but I don’t hate this in grapefruit. It’s still delicious.
They are light tasting, sweet but not surgery and I do feel like they’ve helped me sustain my hydration more. As my skin feels even better and more moistirized lately, especially with this fry cold crisp east coast winter!
And my hair also feels and absorbs products way better now that I’m thinking of it. And I have low porosity hair but to think of it this past two days product has been absorbing way better and I feel like my curls pop way more.
One packet comes with more than enough for the recommended 17oz drink. I’ve even used a 32oz drink cup a few times and it’s still great tasting.
And for the person saying it’s “made in china “ so it’s bad!
NEWS FLASH!!! 95% of things are made in China. Point me to the multiple factories of things in America if that’s the case?
So don’t mind that comment. I usually don’t comment on other ppls reviews but seeing ppl mark things down cause they’re made in China is starting to get ridiculous. Like even the phone you’re holding now is made in China.
As I said most things are even the stuff that doesn’t say it, trust me .:: they are!
Plus Chinese ppl are way healthier and look younger than a lot of Americans. . So like what’s the issue again? Like that’s so r a c I s t marking something down cause of that . Get a grip.
Anyways , yeah I have no complaints with this tbh!

I tried out pineapple and lemon flavors, and both are delicious. The pineapple flavor is particularly good which surprised me. The lemon is a little less realistic but is basically lemonade. However, I wish the flavors weren’t artificial and that there wasn’t so much artificial sweetener. The first ingredient, Allulose, is a sweetener still under study for its safety and isn’t approved in Europe or Canada. I’m sensitive to artificial sweeteners, but the two sweeteners used here taste similar to sugar without any strange aftertaste.
I drink these electrolyte drinks during workouts, bike rides, and other activities. Another brand I prefer uses natural flavors and stevia as the sweetener in a lower amount. The Dynatech mix is tasty, but even though I mix it with 20-24 ounces of water, it’s still slightly too sweet for me. I’m not a fan of sweet drinks, so others might enjoy the sweetness more than I do.
The packets are convenient, and the large bags with zipper tops are great for storage. This product is also a bit more expensive compared to other brands, which might be partly due to the packaging. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend these as my first choice, but they do taste good. I reduced my rating by one star mainly because of the artificial flavoring, the use of Allulose, and the sweetness, not because of the price.
