This serum could have been great but they decided to skip a few things that really hurt the product.
Mainly, for those who have sensitive skin and/or allergies, you cannot find a complete list of ingredients on the product itself or the product listing page. It seems rather odd to not include that anywhere and could lead to issues with people having reactions.
The other big issue is how the product is packaged and accessed from the tube. There is no box at all, which would normally show ingredients and other information like size and instructions…none at all. The tube itself has minimal information and other than the batch number, not much else.
I actually wasn’t sure how to get the serum out and then realized that the bottom is meant to be pushed in to dispense. This seems like such a bad idea on so many levels because this is listed as a travel size, rightly so, it is quite small. Say you toss this in your purse or luggage or whatever you carry toiletries in and in the process of getting jostled about, as bags tend to do, something else in your bag ends up pushing in the bottom and you end up getting the serum dispensed in the lid. You then have a bit of a mess waiting for you when you unscrew the lid….not to mention wasting the serum.
The serum itself is quite watery so I assume it is a water based serum. There is a very slight scent but it is faint. I used this on my hand instead of my face since I have sensitive skin and didn’t want to chance it. My hands absorbed it quickly and felt quite moisturized. It was a bit tacky but then again it could be that a ton was dispensed when I pressed on the bottom lightly. tackiness faded within 10 minutes so it could probably be layered as part of your face care regimen easily.

This Barrier Boosting Microdose with Probiotic Peptides & Kelp came in a small tube, in a plastic bag. I don’t see any information about the product on the outside, or how exactly to use. There wasn’t any kind of plastic wrapping or sealing either, which makes me feel a bit uneasy. However, I did take a chance and give this a try.
The bottle is on the smaller side, probably about 2.5 inches tall. The design of the product is definitely cute and with a trendy aesthetic. I realized that this comes out through a pointed top, which I can then use as sort of a dropper to dispense.
I have only used this on my hand so far, as I wanted to try a skin test patch before getting to my face or anything. I will say that this product has the consistency of a lightweight serum; it absorbs into the skin quicky, and did add some softness to the area(s) on my hand that I tried it on. It left sort of a shiny, dewy finish-at least in my experience…
I think this could be a great product, as it’s trendy looking and on-brand with the type of skincare that’s out there right now. I wish there was more information about the ingredients of the product; as well as exactly how to use it, and things. I think if a few things were changed, it could be an excellent skincare product.

Sel:ph is an interesting brand I was not familiar with before now. They have lots of information online but the product packaging is sleek, seemingly eliminating info for design.
While this can be used on its own, it seems to be best when mixed with the brand’s First Base Cream Serum. The brand has products you mix and match for your needs and preferences. Info from the brand is that Sel:ph is dedicated to responsible sourcing, good ingredients and flexibility to customize to your needs rather than spend tons on multiple products.
This could be made a little clearer on the product posting for people unfamiliar with the brand.
The First Base Cream is a cross between serum and cream, then you tap in a few drops of this Barrier Booster to massage together and onto your face. I liked the feel, it was absorbed quickly and did not leave any residue. My skin did feel softer and smoother although it is too early for me to say what the long term effects will be, for the short term I am enjoying the products.
Four stars for the product as it was posted, it would be five stars if the brand revamped the marketing info to explain the best way to mix and match their products AND as others mentioned, a safety seal on the bottle.

I very much suggest you do not buy this product until they can figure out how to be transparent.
This serum, if that’s what you want to call it (we don’t know because it doesn’t say what it is) has no ingredients and no instructions. It’s probably the worst packaged skin care product I have ever encountered.
It literally DOES NOT SAY what it is, what is does or how to use it on the bottle. I was going to give this to my teenage niece but certainly would not once seeing it!
There’s also NO INGREDIENTS LISTED. Not on an outer box (it doesn’t come with one) or on the plastic tube.
Speaking of plastic, I bought this because I thought this was an eco-friendly brand making products in a cardboard tube, as some manufacturers are. Nope. Not Sel:ph. This is just a big hunk of plastic and comes in a plastic bag for an added bonus. There’s very little product inside so you can feel good about just ordering a chunk of plastic for (at the time) $25 to throw in the trash after using 3-4 times.
I won’t even get started on how dumb the function of the bottle is when you try to get product out.
Truly horrible.
If there was ever an overhyped brand, Sel:ph appears to be it.
