This is great for coating the digestive tract- I even give a bit to the dog in her wet food. I take it dissolved in plenty of water, taste is pretty neutral but a bit woodsy- it IS bark! I notice a difference when I take it.

I put this very small scoop in my coffee in the morning. Has no flavor. It coats my stomach from the coffee acid. It also helps my indigestion for most of the day. Would not be without it anymore

Last bought was good quality. It would become a thick gel but this time it does not become a gel. The powder just settles at tue bottom of the glass.

Like several others who purchased this product recently, I can attest that the powder did not gel at all. I had seen those reviews but I took a risk anyway since I trusted that this company normally has good products. Unfortunately, it didn’t gel for me. I tried it every which way per Google research (in room temperature water for a while, stir into warm water, bring water to a boil for a few minutes, etc.) It simply did not gel. Since my understanding is that the benefit comes from the slippery/gelling quality of the product, my conclusion is this won’t do the job.
I did contact customer support for the company. They told me they changed suppliers. Not sure why this means the product doesn’t gel but that’s the only explanation given. I was offered the opportunity to return the product at my own expense in order to get a refund. Not the kind of customer service I expect when dealing with Amazon purchases so that was disappointing as well. But they respond very quickly so there is that.
I will let you draw your own conclusions on this experience. As for me, I’m off to find slippery elm from a different company.
