When talking out of packing the seal was lifted and container was half empty. How can I return and get new one?

I thought the product felt soothing on my sensitive skin areas as well as being helpful and healing.
There are only two aspects that make me hesitant about this product. I didn’t necessarily like the smell of the product. Honestly, it smells like I was wearing a moth ball smelling lotion. It’s not an awful smell, but its not something I want to put on and then go to work.
I thought the product was a little on the greasy side, so if you are putting it on an area where your clothes will touch, it may be a concern for some fabrics.
Aside from those two points, I thought the product did a great job for its intended use. The product was soothing, helped with itching, and reduced redness. That’s a big win for me.
Overall, if you are interested in this type of product, I recommend giving it a try.

I’m familiar with MG217 Coal Tar Shampoo and didn’t know there was a topical ointment for treating small problematic areas. The MG217 2% Coal Tar Ointment smell isn’t as intense as the shampoo and isn’t too noticeable to others. The base is petroleum jelly and works quickly into the skin. The label directs to use 1 to 4 times a day or as directed by a medical professional. There is a warning that skin may be more sunburn-sensitive within 24 hours of application. The Prop 65 warning is a statement on almost anything sold in California. Like the shampoo, I’m sure I’ll need to use the ointment for an extended period to see good results.
Full Disclosure: I received this product for free from the Vine program. However, I want to emphasize that I did not receive any payment for this review. It’s also important to note that I pay 29% in federal and state income taxes for each item. I apologize for not including any pictures in this review, as my genetic condition causes my hands to shake.

I have not tried a Coal Tar based Ointment before so I had a lot of things to look into before giving this a try. From the first look of it it has a lot of petroleum jelly in this ointment overall based on the color alone. I have used the product for the past week now and it something that I can now give a try along with the many other things out there to improve symptoms. The smell isn’t that bad to me, though some might not like it as much as other products out there..

I’ve used other coal tar solutions that claim 2% potency, and this one is EXTREMELY weak in comparison. Don’t waste your money. Get the Psoraisin Deep Moisturizing Ointment instead.

I like how ointment feels on my skin. It’s soothes it well to help with itch control and leaves the troubled patches more smooth and less flaky. Does have a bit thick of texture coming out of the jar, but it’s easy to spread on the skin to make it thin. My skin likes how it makes it feels, but does have issues with tackiness and the scent isn’t pleasant at all. Works better as a night cream but in the day I wouldn’t want to smell like this or have it rub off and stain clothing/furniture

I don’t really mind the smell. I’m just glad that it arrived in one piece and was able to do its job in a short time and at a not so bad price.

Coal tar cream is sort of an acquired taste. Or rather, something you try to get used to.
If you have certain skin issues, as I do (not allowed to mention my particular condition in a review), you know this stuff well.
I was happy to be offered this cream, because I know it works if used consistently. Relieves itching somewhat, but it does smell bad.
That’s where the acquired taste comes in . . . you have to be able to get past the smell of this stuff, although this particular brand is not as strong smelling as some others I have tried.
That being said, this container arrived with NO SEAL, open, and leaking all over the inside of the envelope. There is a pull-off plastic that sits on top of the cream (between the lid and cream), but that was out of place and much of the cream had spilled inside the envelope.
Despite this, I was able to use some of the cream, but the package really does need to be sealed.
Three stars.
