It sat on top of my skin and didn’t absorb very well. It was very greasy. I’ve had merlot before that I loved but this is not the same. Very disappointing 😞

  2. The Rose

Use the lotion around eyes. Not greasy feeling, and it softens the skin around eyes.

Granted, this product has a lot of skincare buzz word ingredients – squalene, retinal palmitate, peptides, to name a few. My wife has included photos of the full ingredient list. Most of the ingredients are safe, with the exception of Phenoxyethanol, a preservative the Environmental Working Group lists as moderate. No parabens or gross forever chemicals. My wife doesn’t like the smell. It’s supposed to be citrusy, but it smells soapy to her. The texture is thick and creamy, which is nice. The top to the jar, underneath the lid, is styrofoam. Which might be better for the environment than a plastic insert to the lid. But it won’t stay on the jar to keep the product fresh, either. The product seems fine, but not miracle working.

5/16/2023: Merlot Fine Lines Cream Advanced Repair with shea butter anti wrinkle peptides dark spot reducing moisture recovery for all skin types

This cream has a nice consistency, not too think or thick and not too oily. It absorbed as quickly as I expected. The scent is ok – I would prefer fragrance free but the smell doesn’t linger for too long so I can tolerate it (I am very sensitive to my sense of smell).

I have very reactive skin and rosacea so I’m very cautious about what I put on my face. I tested it on my hand for a few days before putting it on my face. So far I haven’t reacted to this!

I haven’t noticed any skin firming or reduction in fine lines yet, but I haven’t been using it for very long. I’m going to have to give it more time before I can judge that aspect. For now, I’m rating it based on the fact that I can tolerate the smell, it doesn’t trigger my rosacea, and I like the consistency. I’ll keep using it for a while and then I’ll update my review if there is any noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin.

It has a thick, creamy consistency, but it doesn’t feel heavy on my face. My skin absorbs the cream fairly quickly. I apply it liberally on my trouble areas, which are my forehead and cheeks, and then lightly on the rest of my face. My face doesn’t feel or look greasy after applying it. Once the creamy gets absorbed, my skin feels smooth to the touch. There is a subtle, mild aroma. It’s not strong or unpleasant, and I only notice it when I open the jar. This is a daytime face cream for me because of how face it absorbs and that it doesn’t make my face feel sticky or look greasy.

I’ll try anything to help with the wrinkles that are slowly winning the fight for my face, and the two noticeable hyperpigmentation spots on my cheeks that won’t go away. Although it will take time to see a noticeable difference, the most important first step, for me, was making sure the cream wasn’t too rich or oily for my sensitive skin and cause breakouts. So, I was very pleased that the cream felt lovely, luxe and smooth being applied, like it was penetrating my pores and forming a lovely barrier, and my skin felt soft the next day, with no irritation overnight and no breakouts. I can’t quite place the smell (is it wine?) but it isn’t noticeable once on. Will keep using.

This is a super thick, hydrating cream that I tried for the first time today. It’s not bothering my super sensitive skin at all. I put some on my face after a red-light session, and my face looks like a baby’s bottom. The cream rubs right in and leaves a nice, dewy look on my face. Even better, my hands looked like the hands of a 3,000 year old crone, so I tried some of this on them and they instantly looked hydrated and dewy as well.

This is my first time with the cream. I can report that I saw an immediate plumping take place, and that it doesn’t bother my sensitive skin. I’ll return in a couple of weeks and report in as to any changes I see in my skin. So far so good.

The cream had a faint scent. It was a white cream consistency. It rubbed on easily and absorbed quickly. My skin felt soft and smooth. I like that the cream wasn’t greasy or left my skin tacky. I didn’t notice my dark spots getting lighter but I will continue using the moisturizer as its a nice lightweight moisturizer.
