This had such a strong smell, not like honey, that I couldn’t use it. It’s incredibly floral due to geranium oil. Without reading each ingredient, I never would’ve known. Bummer because it’s not what I’d expect and definitely not what I wanted.

I have always loved the smell and feel of honey, especially manuka honey. This body wash is an amazing combo of feels great and smells even better. It’s very moisturizing and I always feel clean after using it.

Before I ordered the “MELORA Manuka Honey Body Wash (7 Oz) – Moisturizing Skin Care Body Soap with Manuka Honey” I checked out what the difference between Manuka Honey and Manuka Oil is. Here is the explanation in a very short version: “Mānuka oil is extracted from the leaves of the plant while Mānuka honey is produced by bees.”
Then I checked on the numbers in the title of the product, the 525+ MGO and the MBTK (TM) 20+. The MGO means this: “All Manuka honey, when produced in New Zealand, is tested first and foremost for its MG levels. MG is measured in parts per million (ppm) or, stated another way, milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). Test results for MG content can range from about 85 to over 1000 mg/kg. Methylglyoxal is a naturally occurring organic compound found in varying concentrations in Manuka honey. It is commonly abbreviated as either MG or MGO. A direct correlation exists between the MG level of the honey and the antibacterial property of the honey.”
The listing does not specify the strength of the body wash MGO but the subtitle shows the 525 MGO, does this mean it contains 525 MGO or not?
The other part of the sub title shows MBTK (TM) 20+. here is an explanation of MBTK: “Mānuka Essential Oil is harvested from New Zealand’s remote East Cape region. Mānuka oil 20+ contains ß-triketones (beta-triketones), a group of organic compounds found in nature. Triketones have very high levels antimicrobial properties naturally beneficial in the fight against bacteria.”
And here too, the listing does not talk about this but the subtitle indicates it, but with the TM for Trademark. Hmmmmmmm…
What made me do the research is the low price of $12 for a Manuka containing 7 ounce product. I guess the manuka percentage in there (listed in 4th position on the ingredient list) is miniscule.For 8 ounce 100% Manuka honey I have paid around $40.
Well, the product is fine for my skin, it does not dry it out but it also does not really hydrate. The tube has a very convenient flip top, the body wash itself is a clear gel. If you need a body wash with less chemical ingredients then give this one a try.

This review is for Melora Manuka Honey & Oil Body Wash (7 Oz). This is a decent body wash that smells floral/herbal, somewhat jasmine-like. It has a thick jelly consistency and does not spread very well. It works best to dispense a small clear gel blob into hand, lather between hands then wash. The body wash leaves skin moisturized and soft. The manuka honey and oil does not seem to add anything compared to a typical body wash. The packaging and scent are high end and spa-like, so this product could be included in a spa themed gift basket.

Melora Manuka Honey Body Wash can make a daily activity like showering a relaxing and spa-like experience. The 7fl oz bottle holds a clear gel body wash that when paired with your favorite loofah sponge and water can create a full and frothy bubble party for your body. The body wash has an intoxicating and natural fragrance of honey. When it was time to rinse off, the bubbles slid off easily and left no residue behind. After several days of use, I have found that my skin feels baby soft and moisturized while looking healthy and refreshed. I did not experience any skin irritation, redness, or dryness when using this product. The wash is made with Manuka Honey and Manuka Branch/Leaf Oil that was sustainably harvested from the East Cape of New Zealand. It is a Gluten-Free product that is made with Non-GMO ingredients. It is a Product of the USA. Overall, it is a fantastic body wash that I just wish was in a bigger bottle! I will definitely add another bottle to my Amazon cart.
