I bought these to take for myself(I’m and adult) and they really surprised me. I struggle to fall asleep and often toss and turn for a very long time but I decided to take just 1 of these, even though the dose is low, just to test it out. I was able to fall asleep quicker but the strange thing was my dreams. I had some very intense and kind of stressful dreams, which is very unlike my normal dreams. I woke up startled and a little confused. I didn’t know if it was from the melatonin so I decided to take another one a few days later to try again and the same thing happened. I don’t know if this is just a result of personal adverse effects but considering the dose is for children I’m concerned about the strength of it if it effected me(an adult) so strongly.

Its absolutely insane, but this is the second time in a week that this has happened to me (the first time was a different kids melatonin brand though). This bottle from VitaWorks was received opened, the label was sketchy in how it was affixed to the bottle, and the expiration/lot number was rubbed out. There were also TOO MANY pills in the open bottle, which is reflective of poor quality control. Very disappointed, didnt even try them due to the state of the item.

My youngest has NEVER had an easy time falling asleep, and it’s been torturous for all of us at times! Our doctor recommended occasional melatonin for nights when she just can’t get to sleep. She used it for a bit on a pretty regular basis, and once we had her on a good schedule, her body seemed to learn that bedtime means sleep. Now we use it very occasionally for nights when she just can’t settle her brain. I love that these are only 1mg, so I don’t have to split them (the smallest gummy I’ve found is 2.5, which is much more than she needs, so we have to cut it in thirds). She loves the taste and it really does help her nod off within about 20 minutes.

These chewable tablets contain 1 mg of melatonin, as well as sugar, a “proprietary blend” of chamomile flower & lemon balm leaf extract, and a few other ingredients. The instructions say to chew one tablet, or for people 12 and over, up to 3 tablets may be consumed 1/2 hour before bedtime. I chewed three of them to test them out. The taste is pleasant, fruity, and not overly sweet. The tablets dissolve quickly and easily. They will definitely need to be kept out of reach of children, because they could be mistaken for candy. They did make me very sleepy shortly after going to bed, so I do believe they are effective for helping you to fall asleep. I didn’t feel groggy or tired in the morning, so there are no lingering aftereffects. I would start children out with only one tablet to see if that was effective. These tablets taste very nice and are easy to use since they don’t need to be swallowed, so they can be used by everyone in the family (provided there are no other medications or conditions that might conflict with them, of course). The bottle contains 120 tablets, so they should last a while!

I was hesitant to give this to my daughter. A friend recommended this and it worked like a charm. The best part is this is not a sleeping substitute, I noticed my daughter didn’t actually fall asleep unless she was relaxed and ready for bed. My daughter always has had issues going to bed at a decent bedtime, when I started giving her melatonin she is going to sleep at a reasonable bedtime.

Updating my review to five stars. After my initial purchase, the seller offered me a refund (with no strings attached). So I reordered and I’m so glad I did. This stuff is AMAZING! My very picky 4yo loves the taste and I love how great it works. She falls asleep within 30 minutes and stays asleep all night. We were using gummy melatonin before so I was a little worried about switching to chewable but it was easy.
Original review: This came with no inner seal so I’m not able to give it to my 4 year old. And there’s no option to return or replace.
