I have been getting into making my own beauty products because I am tired of the scents and chemicals in the ones on the market and shea butter is a very common product in many of them. I chose this brand for many reasons but mostly because of the organic, unrefined, fair trade and pureness of the product itself.
Upon receiving the butter I opened it and noticed that it is packaged inside the bag and that is wonderful because it is a soft product and that extra protection is appreciated. The butter is a soft cream, almost white color and soft to the touch (see photo, I keep it in that plastic container so it is not included). The scent is very subtle and wonderful on its own but it also takes essential oils very nicely and evenly. I added a few ingredients to make lotion bars (see other photo) and it melted, blended, formed and solidified beautifully. I know that this one pound package will last for quite as while as it is high quality to you do not need much to get results.
It is 100% pure African Shea butter, vegan, gluten free, non GMO, organic and is unrefined. It has a melting point of 80 degrees F so store it accordingly and in a dark place. I have had no issues with this product at all. There are so many uses it is crazy! LOL. I love using this right out of the shower or bath on my warm skin because it melts and works its way into my skin keeping it softer and moisturized (and I have dry skin). I don’t think I can get a better product this this and am very happy with everything about it. I thin the price is nice as well and though it might be higher then other products the quality is worth it. I would recommend this product/brand to all.

First time I’ve ordered this brand. Second time ordering Shea butter. The first one I ended up throwing it away cause i could not get passed the smell and it eventually went bad. This one is different. Don’t get me wrong. Still has a scent. This one last night I put from the neck down while in a almost empty bathtub. I let myself soak it in for 20 minutes then filled up the tub the rest of the way with real hot water. I did not rinse off. Dried myself with an old towel and hopped in bed. I felt dreamy. This is my new brand for sure. Way worth the extra monies to get unrefined organic with less stinky smell

So I enjoy putting this on my face ten minutes before I shower. After washing it off I’ve noticed my tone has evened out, I break out less, my skin is so soft and luxurious, any wrinkles seem to disapear. I also found putting this on mosquito bites quite seriously reduces redness swelling and itching near instantly! I’m type O+ and so I’m a skeeter buffet. This also seems to deter the little suckers. I’ve put it in a smaller container and stored the rest in a cool dark area in its’ original bag. I also have a small recycled jar that I travel with. It’s safe for chapped lips as well.
A quick warm up and it easily spreads into and onto skin. The scent is not offensive but not the most fragrant.

This shea butter is wonderful. I mixed with coconut oil, glycerin and zinc powder to make a diaper cream. I mixed just with coconut oil and glycerin to make a skin cream and use it daily. It is wonderful by itself as well. The scent is very nice and it absorbs fairly quickly. I highly recommend.

This is an excellent moisturizer/healer/protectant for sensitive skin like mine, but it’s not the easiest to handle. The new protective outer opaque bag is a good idea, but it’s too small to seal again after pulling open the block of shea butter inside. Ripping apart the inner plastic bag is messy, so it’s a good idea to be ready with a more permanent storage container before you start.
It’s worth the bother, though, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve blended the butter with oils and lavender in the past and will likely do so again in the future for ease of spreading, but right now I just need plain old skin-warmed shea butter to repair my delicate, cracking, rough skin. I’ve found nothing better for this purpose.
Oh, and as for the odor that many dislike, I happily find it delightfully pleasant and natural, unlike most other chemically or over scented products.

While I love the texture and how it works well with my ingredients, I don’t like the smell. I know sheas from different vendors may have a slightly different smell, but this brand has a slight sour smell to it so I have no choice but to use essential oils to mask it. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.

I just plain love Shea butter
I add it to my grapeseed oil and organic sunflower oil that I have sented with my EOs or Herbs that I infused in the oils over 6 weeks.
Shea butter helps my oils to be a little thicker.
Easy to apply to the skin. Blends into the skin smoothly.
Shea butter is used small amount and spread over the skin. Moisturizes nicely. Excellent for dry skin.
Even skin that is not dry. I use it after a shower and before bed. I do not feel greasy at all.
