This is a no frill shea butter product. Some may think it is difficult to use as it no soft and creamy in the container, more like trying to use cold butter for your toast in the morning. But it gives you the opportunity to-really massage product into your skin. Hydration is supreme

This is a great moisturizer, I’ve been using it during pregnancy, but it is very solid and needs melted before use. There is virtually no smell, and while it initially feels a bit greasy it absorbs well with no staining on clothes

My order arrived today, quickly and in perfect condition. I took the lid off and ran my fingers across the surface of the butter. It was still a bit chilled from being outside on an 11° day, so I don’t know how much the texture will change at room temp, but it was so smooth! I scraped some up and spread it on my hands and it was thicker and not as greasy feeling as shea butters I have purchased in the past. It left a soft, cushioned feeling on my skin, quite lovely! The scent is definitely shea butter but not as strong as I’ve experienced in the past. Somewhere in between refined and really raw. Also very nice! I use shea butters to make diy lotions, creams and balms. I will amend this review once I’ve used this in a couple of recipes. I’m expecting good things from this butter! So far, it’s great! Amended 1/19/19: it didn’t occur to me until I started using it that Shea butter from the Karite tree is white and has a much stronger aroma, is more greasy etc. I believe this butter to be Kapangnan butter, also called ‘yellow Shea butter’. It is not what most people think of as Shea butter and is not related. It has different therapeutic properties than white Shea butter. Very good ones including helping with pain. It is a warming oil on the skin. I already have another brand of Kapangnan butter so that is how I know about it. So I am happy to have it but still need some white Shea butter, so will have to order again. Just an FYI.

I put it in the microwave because it’s so thick before it cools all the way I rubbed it on my face and skin I’ve heard that it reduces wrinkles as well love it
