Problem: I can’t tell the difference between this (soap) and toner. They look the same!

Was looking for a cruelty-free alternative and was enjoying the product until I found out it contains Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, which is a microplastic. Microplastics in this product will go down the drain and end up in our oceans, contaminating our food, and eventually ending up inside our bodies. My friend tested her placenta and it already contained microplastics. Her baby was already swimming in microplastics before she was born. Please stop putting this crap in your products.

So, there’s a bit of a back story to this review. My husband is 57 and had never used a cleanser specifically for his face. He knew that I did, along with all my other “face stuff”, but he really thought soap is soap, one’s just as good as any other. So why did he end up using this?? Well, he’s outside year round, so his skin is exposed to pretty much everything. His problem the past few years is that the skin on his face has started to really chap and become very dry in the winter. His answer was to just put some lotion on it, but it really never solved the problem. He finally asked me if I knew anything that would help because this year it started almost as soon as the weather turned colder and it was actually kind of painful when he washed his face.
I explained that just washing his face with the same stuff he used on the rest of his body (usually bar soap, sometimes body wash) was drying his face out and that then he was exposing that dried out face to more things (wind & dry winter cold) that was just making the problem worse. So I convinced him to try using a soap just for his face (and also a moisturizer eventually, but that’s a WHOLE different review). He used it once and was amazed by two things…..it didn’t sting when he washed his face and his face felt soft. Like, he kept touching it and wanted me to touch it and confirm how soft it was. (Heaven help this man if he ever experiences exfoliation…lol) He also really liked the scent of it.
So now he’s a convert…..and a pretty vocal one. He tells people about it. Which is kind of funny to listen to, for many reasons. Imagine a 57 year old man asking his buddies, his daughters’ boyfriends, the guys at the coffee shop, the FedEx guy (you get the idea….pretty much anyone) if they’ve ever tried face soap? (Yep, that’s what he calls it). It’s like he’s found this amazing invention and wants to share it with anyone who hasn’t discovered it yet. And then he tells them about Man Skin. It really has helped the chapped, dry skin problem he was dealing with and helped to convince him that “skin stuff” might be a good idea this winter. He definitely gives Man Skin 5 stars!!
