I take papaya enzymes to help digest protein after meals. This formula is modeled after other well-known papaya enzyme products. It contains some papain (digests protein), bromelain (also digests protein), and amylase (digests starch).
I took off a star for two reasons. One, there is very little information about quality control. The company website has very little information about their products, and mainly sells other products. Also, the enzymes have milligram amounts, but not the actual activity of the enzymes. Usually papain is measured in USP units or PU (Papain units). Without knowing the strength of the enzymes, it’s hard to assess their value.

This is a simple papaya supplement, which is what I wanted. The tablets are very small and easy to chew. They dissolve quickly and taste great–like papaya. There are four tablets in a serving. I do think these are pretty spendy. Otherwise, they’re fine.
I just wanted to point out that”adults” is misspelled on the back of the bag a “adulkts”. They might want to correct that in the future.

I got this to try and have better digestion and had done reading on the active ingredient papain which can cause some adverse effects in some people although I’m not entirely sure of the severity of those effects to say that I am one of them. I took the recommended dosage and unfortunately had a burning sensation in my mouth and throat and felt somewhat sick after taking. It was the same burning sensation as eating too much pineapple which makes sense since papain is in the same family of chemicals as bromelain. So I definitely think this product is legitimate and can be effective for some people but I am unfortunately not one of those people. My fiancee tried it at a lower than instructed dose and seems to be benefiting from it so there’s that, but after my first few experiences I am hesitant to try again. Your results may vary.

These are little digestive tablets that are like pez candies, nice flavor and crunchy. However, they contain sugar which is unnecessary, the papaya ingredients alone taste good, no sweetener is even needed.
