As soon as you open the package it smells like chemically manufactured rotten eggs. It’s really disgusting. When you first dampen it with water, it smells even worse. The fabric texture gets extremely hard and shrinks. I did it on slightly damp but dried skin after a bath. I had to go with the white softer one just because it was too abrasive. The smell got all over my body. I had to fully wash again. I suggest washing them with baking soda or dish soap first cause it’s very pungent. Every single mitt had a weird different smell to them. Granted my skin is slightly smoother, i didn’t get off much dead skin. Which is weird bc i have severely dry skin, Good for the price i suppose, but I think I’m going to be checking into a different kind and brand like the softer looking ones I’ve seen on YouTube/TT.

OK I somehow got onto Kessa glove tik tok and saw all these videos of rolls of dead skin coming off and after going down the rabbit hole of kessa exfoliation I decided I NEEDED one. So of course I did lots of research on how to properly use a kessa. First off you either need to soak in hot bath with nothing but water in it for 20 or so minutes and you have to make sure your bathroom and the water are hot like you are in a sauna if you don’t have a bath tub you can stand under the shower water for 10 to 15 minutes. The most important part is making sure that your skin only has water on it. DO NOT put any soap or oil on before using the kessa because it will not work. The only exception to this rule that I have heard of is Moroccan or African black soap and you have to let that sit on your skin to open your pores for 10 or so minutes. I didn’t have access to the fancy soap so I just soaked in the water. Then when you are ready to exfoliate you get your Kessa wet and then wring it out and make sure if you are in the shower to either turn off the shower while making sure your bathroom stays hot and steamy or just move away from the stream if water. Which is what I did instead of the bath. And with the glove on you do long strokes on your skin with a lot of pressure. (It is going to feel like you are using sandpaper and it might hurt a bit, BUT that’s what you want to happen!!!!) And you do that every where your arms and under arms, your legs, your back, your chest and stomach literally everywhere except for downstairs sensitive places . And if you did the steps right and soaked your skin in hot water for long enough you will see and feel your dead skin coming off of your body in rolls it’s gross but sooooo satisfying at the same time. Now after you have scrubbed every inch of your body with the Kessa you rinse it and your body and then go trough the rest of your shower routine. And afterwards MAKE SURE TO MOISTURIZE!!!!!! That is very important if you want your skin to feel smooth. As soon as I was done with the rest of my shower after I turned the water off, before I even got out I slathered my self in body oil put on a towel did my skin care and then put EOS Vanilla chasmere lotion on. My skin felt amazing even this morning when I woke up my skin still looked and felt amazing!! Now this is very important this is a ONCE A WEEK type of thing not an everyday thing (please do not do this everyday you will just end up damaging your skin and you want smooth skin not inflamed skin) Or you could do this every two weeks depending on your skin type. I have ✨️🍓 Strawberry Skin🍓✨️ or Keratosis pilaris which causes bumps on my arms and legs so I will need to do this once a week. And for my fellow KP girlies (Yes I know the name on the review is a guys name but this is my fiancés account that we share) Anyway for my fellow KP girlies I can tell you that this works I instantly saw some improvement. Yes it will take multiple uses to make my KP go away and then continued once a week use to keep it away but for the first time in forever I don’t have that many bumps on my arms and legs.
So the pros of this exfoliation kessa glove are as follows
•Fast delivery
•works like is is supposed to if you do all the proper steps
•cute colors (I got the pink and purple)
•well made and stays on hands while scrubbing
CONS:
• Smells horrible right out of the package.
That’s it, that’s the only con I have and even that is an easy fix. All you need to do is fill a bowl with hot water and A LOT of baking soda (even if you think you have enough baking soda you don’t add more) and let it soak for 30 minutes to an hour . If it still smells repeat what you just did until it’s deodorized and doesn’t smell bad. Anyway I will definitely be buying this again when I need to replace the ones I have. 100 out of 10 would definitely recommend.
Also don’t forget to rinse and wring out your Kessa and then lay it some place to dry out of the shower so bacteria doesn’t grow on it. And also leaving dead skin on your Kessa is gross .

Stinky but works well. I feel like I shouldn’t use it bc it smells gross so…

These are the best products for the price, and because they offer 3 levels of “grit” for exfoliation. They come with mitts of 120d, 150d and 250d – which are in reverse order of the way you might expect (when thinking about sandpaper). The 250d is the strongest exfoliation and the 120d the softest. I typically use the 150d as of now, I am a bit hesitant to use the 250d, because I have fairly sensitive and thin skin. I have no tolerance for the sun, am very fair with freckles, and a woman over 65 with grey hair and blue eyes. I do have dry skin that needs exfoliating during every shower, but the 250d is reserved for my husband, or maybe my feet from time to time.
I’m afraid I might be in for a surprise of ‘no skin’ if I did use the 250d. I think that it’s probably more for men, in particular, or women with thicker skin due to their coloring and the level of sun they can/do endure.

UPDATE: I’ve bought a few other expensive exfoliating mits since buying these ones, and these ones are better than them all. No joke. These cheap ones are seriously so good. I liked them at first, but after buying a few more expensive ones hoping they’d work even “better” than these ones…. These ones blew the others out of the water. These are definitely it!!
Awesome exfoliating mits. Bought these to use in between spray tans so I could scrub all the old off before I went in to get a fresh one, and these do the job very well. They do tend to get a little duller each time you use them, so you’d probably want to replace them every 5-6 times, but for how cheap they are and the fact a pack comes with two, it’s not a big deal. I’ll continue to buy these.

I’ve been exfoliating weekly for at least 20 years, buying different kinds of gloves, scrubs, sponges but nothing has come close to this set of gloves besides a set of Japanese viscose gloves I bought a couple years ago that started coming apart after a couple months of use. These seem very well made and I LOVE the option of roughness. I use the black one for my body, the gray one for my feet and the white one occasionally for my face at the end of the day. These are must have.

They work very well, but get a disgusting smell and started to grow mold. If you’re looking for a product to last, this isn’t it

They are really good at exfoliation and they have made my skin so much better
