I found the one! My hands were going nuts with winter cold and doing dishes all the time. I thought BWC was great the first time I used it but thought the fantastic results would go away. No! My hands have completely cleared up and softened, and no animal had to be hurt — which is more important to me than anything I can think of. Also, there are no hormone disruptors or toxins to hurt me! This is good stuff, and I can’t wait to see what it does for summertime use. I’m also hoping to find other good products BWC makes. BWC should fancy-up their bottle a bit. This is the only bottle I deem worthy of my countertop! Neverthless, I’m happy and proud to have it out and use it whenever I want. No problem with the pump, by the way, after I primed it the first time. Thank you so much for this product that makes my day happier!

Excellent lotion, except for the fragrance.
Rich and emollient. Skin hydration that really lasts. The scent is just plain weird. Hoping they’ll tweak the scent.

I use many of this brand’s products, and have used this lotion before, tried others, but have come back to this one. I find it moisturizes my scaly, flaky, winter skin without too greasy of a feel. The smell that some reviewers dislike, I don’t notice. But, I asked my son to smell it and he thought it was awful. To me, it has that earthy, shea butter sort of smell, with no fragrance to mask that. I also like the consistency of this lotion, not too thick so that it is easy to spread. I have a drawer full of barely used scented lotions that don’t do anything to moisturize my skin, but smell great, so I guess that it is all person preference.

I used to use Nivea cream for my skin. I’m a man of 23 and I wanted to change to a Cruelty free cream without scent.
The cream it has a smell, it really quiet neutral for my taste so i like it. The only issue that I have is that after putting on my skin, it feels a bit sticky. I think I will get used to it

The moisturising properties of this lotion are fantastic; unlike many lotions, the oils here actually seem to sink into my skin and last a fair amount of time. Unfortunately the smell is not ideal: it smells a bit like chocolate, which, while not unpleasant, is bizarre for a body lotion.

I worked in food service for over 15 years. The damage hand washing has done to my hands is lifelong.
I’ve used tons of non-vegan products on my hands (assuming they’d provide the best results). After being bound to other lotions for years, I figured I might as well use something animal-friendly if I’m going to be applying lotion dozens of times each day to little effect.
With BWC, the results are incomparably better than I have ever experienced. I probably apply only three or four times a day, and I think some of this is force of habit. My hands are moisturized and never irritated. The lotion is smooth but not oily and leaves no scent. It’s literally perfect. I’ll be buying it forever. Thanks, BWC!

I spent months searching for a replacement for my favorite St. Ives oatmeal and shea butter lotion when they changed the formula and broke my heart. I finally came across this, and started off by ordering a couple travel sized bottles of the different formulas from the BWC website to see which I liked best. While I do prefer the Extra Rich formula over the original fragrance free one, I found them both to be great products.
I did notice the burnt chocolate smell that some reviewers mentioned, but it’s really not a terrible smell and dissipates very quickly. After using it for a few days, I don’t even notice it anymore. I’d rather have a fragrance free product that smelled like its fantastic ingredients than something with an overpowering fake flower smell. I added a few drops of jasmine oil to mine, just to make it my own.
This hydrates wonderfully. Now that it’s winter, I wear so many layers and am in contact with awful, dry weather, but never find a single dry or flaky patch. Even after I rinse off in the shower after work, my skin still feels great without reapplying. I think I’ve finally found my new favorite lotion!
My only suggestion, not a complaint, is that they use less plastic in their bottles. They are very thick. I always cut my bottles open to get every bit of product out, and it really takes some elbow grease to get into these bad boys. It also just seems a bit wasteful to use so much.
Never change, BWC!

Summary:
The stars I knocked off are because of the mystery coco butter scent. Other than that its a good lotion, but I personally prefer their regular formula.
It smells like coco butter to me and coco butter isn’t in the ingredients list. I have a dog who is a sneak attack lotion licker. He’s also only 10lbs, so I don’t want him getting any coco products. So because of that concern, I haven’t been using the lotion.
I did use it when I first got it and it was a good lotion, but I like the regular lotion better. It moisturized well, it was non greasy, and it smelled nice, The smell did stick to my hands for a while and it was just on the edge of making me sneeze (I’m sensitive to fragrance now, I miss all the pretty smells).

The lotion is fine except the odor. I like that it does have harsh chemicals.
