The nurse at my husband cancer center suggested we try this. It is unflavored and you can mix with juice or whatever you like. Two tablespoons equals 16 grams of protein which is huge when you are trying to get your loved one to eat.

I was expecting something completely flavorless that I could add to anything, but this protein liquid is very sweet. It comes out almost like a syrup, and can replace anything you would put, honey in or even sugar. Today, I put it in my coffee with a little bit of milk and it taste very similar to having a flavored creamer in it. I don’t dislike it, it’s just not what I had expected, but it will still be very useful for me.

I ordered a box of LiquaCel variety packets for my mother while she was going through chemo. Unfortunately, she was unable to tolerate the flavored ones due to the sweetness making her nauseated. I ordered her this one in the large size expecting the unflavored would be better. She tried the unflavored packet included in her variety pack (after I had already received this one) but she still couldn’t drink it. She said they were too sweet and made her nausea worse.
She lost her battle with cancer three months ago. I still had this unopened large bottle of unflavored LiquaCel. The use by date is next year.
In preparation for surgery next week I decided to drink this LiquaCel for extra protein to promote healing.
It is thick like syrup so I added 1 ounce to 8 ounces of water. The flavor is horrendous. It is cloyingly sweet and slightly fruity in a bad way. The smell is weird and the background flavor is…something…kind of like beef broth…maybe the collagen??? There is absolutely no way I could keep this down if I were nauseated.
It would be nice to have a neutral product without the sweet additive. However, it would probably be even more unpalatable without the Sucralose trying to mask the flavor.
I will continue drink it like a medication because I don’t want to waste it, and I need the protein. Tomorrow I will use only 4 ounces of water and add my flavored electrolyte powder to it.
I do not recommend this product and will not be purchasing again.

This item wasn’t as thick as some other brands I have tried and isn’t as gross as a few others. While it is flavorless it definitely is not tasteless. Next time I may try a flavored option of the same brand and see how it compares. It’s more like a molasses consistency which is nice as some others are much thicker making them harder to swallow.

I have purchased this multiple times. I mix it into other liquids and sometimes just drink a shot. I like the taste even though it is supposed to be unflavored.

I really like this protein syrup. It is honey-thick and tastes like a sugar free honey. Would not use in savory foods. I had gastric bypass surgery and I tolerate this well. Works great with flavored water enhancers

Purchased for added protein to supplement a restricted diet. Advertised as unflavored, but good tasting. Product was foul in both smell & taste. Added to cranberry juice, which covers up a lot, had no effect in making palatable. Could not stand the smell, or swallow the bad taste of the thick liquid. I can’t recommend this product, & would actually advise against its purchase.

What did I like, not much if anything. What did I not like it most certainly has a flavor, like year old maple and only marginally effective for what you pay
