They had a very strong scent to them and I tried to wash them so that I could handle the smell. They somewhat worked but the smell for me was so off putting that I couldn’t even imagine it on my face after trying it with a face mask under it. I ended up throwing them away because I learned my lesson. It’s probably a good product for someone who doesn’t have a strong nose or knows how to tame the chemical plastic smell. I just couldn’t.

This is great to wear over a face mask. It holds them in place and allows more of the ingredients to get into your skin. After a while the back of your ears get a little sore. But totally worth it.

UPDATED REVIEW:
I have started using sheet masks on my face and these work great for that purpose. They say not to leave a sheet mask on for more than 30 minutes because once it starts drying out, it actually pulls moisture out of your face into the mask. By putting this silicone mask over a sheet mask, I believe you could keep the sheet mask moist all day, if you could stand to wear it that long. No joke – the first time I took mine off after an hour, the sheet mask was almost as wet as it was when I took it out of the bag. There is still a matter of the ear loops hurting after a little while, but it’s not unbearable. What helps me is, instead of pulling the ear loops all the way to the bottom back of the ears (where the ear meets my head), I put them half way up and let them rest on the cartilage.
For those curious about the single use plastic liners I noted below – they work great and are exactly what I was looking for. After cleansing my face in the shower, I put on my serum, cover with the liner while I go do stuff for 10-15 minutes, then take it off and do the rest of my face routine. Sometimes I also put them on after Nivea Creme or CeraVe ointment, but it’s really unnecessary, since those are occlusive already.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Short version:
If you’re looking for something to keep your sheet masks in place for an hour or two, these should work (the ear loops do get uncomfortable and/or painful after a while).
If you’re looking for something to put over your serums, creams, lotions, etc that will create a sweating effect underneath, keeping your skin warm and your pores open so you can absorb more of the product – this isn’t it. There was no sweating effect after I took the mask off and my face was dry.
Long version:
I love skincare products and how soft they make my skin feel (well, the right ones, anyway). I’ve always used face creams/lotions, but only in the last year did I get serious about anti-aging, etc aspects of it. I’m now 39 and my face hasn’t been this soft since I was a teenager. With that said, I’m constantly reading about skincare online and I’m open to ways to improve my routine.
I recently learned about slugging (my skin loves it!), and I got this mask specifically with that in mind. When I slug (I use Nivea Creme, because it also contains water, and hydration is very important), my face feels greasy and sticky for hours (until I’m ready to roll over and go to sleep, at which time I reach for a Kleenex and gently tap over my face to absorb some of the excess grease I don’t want to get all over my hair and pillowcase).
The first time I used this mask, I did my usual PM routine (wash face, homemade PM face cream + hyaluronic acid serum, spray face with a fine mist of water, then 10-15 minutes later add a layer of Nivea Creme on top), put the mask on, waited a couple of hours, then took the mask off. The parts of my face that were underneath the mask were dry – there was definitely no sweating underneath, and my skin didn’t feel like I slugged at all (as opposed to my neck, which was uncovered and still very greasy.) The next night, I repeated the process, but only kept the mask on for an hour – same thing happened. I was baffled – my skin wasn’t greasy, the mask didn’t feel greasy, so where did all of the product go?? I know my skin didn’t absorb it all, and Nivea Creme works as an occlusive and not all of its ingredients are meant to be or can be absorbed by the skin (hence, it works well for slugging). Baffling.
So, my search for the facial sauna effect continued.
After my experience with disposable plastic foot and hand liners (see below) producing generous sweating when applied over creams/lotions, I decided to try these sheet masks: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09KV1Y1DD/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_QSZRDJ20WG3C1PSDJ7TW . They’re not due to arrive until tomorrow, but I have no doubt that they will do exactly what I need them to do. (The reason I initially opted for these silicone masks was for less waste and no reoccurring expenses.)
For anyone interested, I use these type of foot liners (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GD1V2DS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A2K7WTR1AXS0M4DTV6AR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) and these type of hand liners (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0876T2HGL/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_P9M5RN8QVVQTPDCVZ70E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
(In an effort to try something less messy and wasteful, I’m currently waiting to try gel lined socks and gloves.)

I love face masks and this allows me to have it on longer and it prevents it from drying out quicker. It’s a lil tight around the ears but nothing too unbearable. I highly recommend.

The mask pulled too much around my eye area. So, I cut the mask up into pieces so I could lay them on my face. The pieces work well with face serums. I’m noticing accelerated healing of blemishes. Also calms down redness if someone accidentally slaps you too hard in the face or something like that. It makes my face as soft as a baby’s butt. In fact, someone called me a butt face the other day and I was like, “Wow…Thank you so much!”

It’s a nice concept, but I wish they created them in different sizes at the very least. It seems my facial structure for this fits in all the wrong places and the mask overall is just too big to serve the complete purpose as advertised. It bunches at the brow, doesn’t lay flat on my cheeks, sinus areas, upper lip, jawline or chin. I have to use a hairband to hold the whole thing in place but after 10 minutes my sheet mask is completely dried out. I tried using rubberbands to tie back the earloops, but it made the bunching around my cheeks even worse and it hurts my ears. It’s not snug and doesn’t hold any moisture underneath as advertised because of this. The only pro is I can walk around as I’m constantly doing things, but without the benefit of having my skin absorb my product more efficiently like the product promised it would help with, it’s otherwise useless and I’m wasting product for my masks.

I was looking for a type of mask that I could use to wear after I put my serums on my face which would allow the serums to remain moist and working longer ? These are perfect ! I don’t put these around my ears because the fit is too tight so I use hair clips on each side of my head to hold the mask in place and that idea worked perfectly ! Excellent product and exactly what I was looking for !

I wasn’t sure if these were going to be worthwhile but I was pleasantly surprised. No more slipping masks and when I put my creams / mud masks on I like to use this because I always like to multitask and end up getting it all over or forget and rub my face. This protects it. It fits perfectly and I don’t even know it’s there
