These gummies taste a little chalky to me, but my kids like them, which is the important thing. They have a sweet taste and a raspberry candy flavor. Here’s a photo showing the sparkling sugar crystals.
A serving of two gummies provides moderate amounts of calcium in the fairly absorbable form of calcium phosphate. It also has a moderate amount of magnesium in the absorbable form of magnesium citrate. This form of magnesium is given in larger doses for its laxative effect, but the small amount in these gummies doesn’t have any noticeable effect on the people in my family. These gummies also provide a moderate amount of zinc in the absorbable form of zinc citrate, and a larger dose of vitamin D than necessary, but it might help if a kid is starting out with a vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D helps us absorb calcium. These gummies don’t have any vitamin K2, another vitamin that helps our bodies use calcium. If you’re concerned about bone health, you might want to find a source of that too.
So, these are good gummies for providing moderate amounts of minerals and a large amount of vitamin D. Most importantly, my kids are willing to eat them.
