It’s difficult to find much, if any axtaxanthin in krill or fish oil softgels so was happy to try this LaPura Astaxanthin. Astaxathin comes from algae and boosts immune system as well as helps skin and eyes. I ordered this brand because the description and the images both say made in the USA however; the bottle I received only only has a logo saying “formulated” in USA, although it’s nearly impossible to read on the lower left side of the picture. And just gotta love it when Amazon puts the barcode sticker over the dosage info. I was able to eventually peel it off but it leaves a sticky residue.
The softgels are very small deep red color and easy to swallow as I expected but the bottle is 4X oversized. The 60 softgels only fill the bottom 1″ of the bottle. I’m only giving it 3 stars because of the formulated in USA and not made in USA.

Astaxathin is a carotenoid that has been shown to have high bioavailaility as an antioxidant – higher bioavailability than other well known antioxidants such as resveratrol.
LaPura’s bottle label states that astaxathin “Supports Joint, Heart, Skin, Eye, & Muscle Health.” I appreciate that the bottle gives an indication of what this supplement is intended to target.
It takes some time to see the benefits of astaxathin, from what I’ve read, so I wasn’t expecting over night results. For now, I can say that this supplement does not upset my stomach nor have I noticed any negatives or ill effects since starting this supplement.
This Astaxathin supplement from La Pura is GMO-free, gluten- free, dairy-free, and made in the USA. It comes well packaged and sealed.

I’ve been taking Astaxanthin supplements regularly for the last year or two specifically for my eyes & my skin, I usually just buy a bottle at the local box store which is a smaller mg amount so I was eager to try LaPura all natural 10mg Astaxanthin. I’m really pleased with this bottle, it arrived double sealed for safety & the little capsules are super easy to swallow. Astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus Pluvialis algae extract is reported to be the best type to definitely a positive here as well as mg strength, I find the price to be really good for this strength tho it does seem the quantity 120 bottle is an even better value. This is made in the US in a GMP certified facility & is all natural. Would definitely recommend this brand to any who regularly take Astaxanthin or who wish to try, a good value.

I am a huge fan of astaxanthin. Normally, I can’t tell if a supplement works for me, but for whatever reason, when I take astaxanthin my normal susceptibility to sunburns vanishes. I took this for a couple weeks before going on a trip to a sunny beach, and while other members of my family who refuse to take astaxanthin got sunburned despite lots of sunscreen, I came out completely unscathed. So I know astaxanthin works for me.
These capsules are normal sized, easy to swallow, and contain a generous 10 mg of astaxanthin, more than many other supplements. This astaxanthin is sourced from algae, unlike some others that come from krill, if that’s a factor. At just under $16 for a two-month supply, this is decently priced. Recommended.

I’d never heard of astaxanthin before, but the bottle says that these have antioxidants. I’m always looking for good ways to add more of those to my nutritional routine. They were easy to take, and I have personally had no bad issues from them.

I take prescription, traditional, prescribed medicine. I want to try some of these natural and other nontraditional methods. I was advised by the doctor not to mix the two. However, my plan is to give natural products a try. My method is to take tradition medicines on a twelve-hour basis. Then take natural medicine on the in-between 6 hours basis. I will need to get up during the night to take the natural medicines but I am awake periodically during the night.
These natural medicines are mostly unregulated. So, I look for supplements and vitamins that are GMP (General Manufacturing Procedure) accredited. I also check for third party testing. Additionally, I prefer supplements and vitamins made and manufactured in the USA.
