I try to exfoliate gently and properly hydrate with a thick cream like this (immediately after on moist skin) consistently, which I know is key to eliminating our “strawberry” bumps, which tend to show up on our skin over the winter when our skin doesn’t get enough attention and vitamin D. Our bumps are just skin cells that grow too fast and clog the hair follicles. Exfoliating too much to try to erase them just damages the skin, which causes it to react and probably grow even faster. Consistency, a gentle hand, a dose of patience and a great repairing lotion like this works like a charm. The Lactic acid is a huge helping hand to unclog those pores and keep them unclogged and the a vitamin E helps to heal and soften.
It doesn’t irritate my skin at all unless I’ve exfoliated too roughly, which is true for me with any product.
This cream has no scent, which I love as fragrance is completely unnecessary and harmful when trying to heal my skin. It absorbs beautifully, and leaves my skin feeling wonderful, especially if applied immediately after a warm shower to lock in the moisture. The size is generous and makes it a great value. I’m a fan!

Lactic acid creams tend to be effective at exfoliation but often smell like sour milk. Fortunately, PrudermaKP has a very neutral smell.
Unfortunately, the third ingredient is Emulsifying Wax NF. Emulsifying Waxes are made up of synthetic ingredients that are not fully labeled, and where the specific identity and composition of the ingredients are unknown.
According to the NF standard, emulsifying wax contains the following chemicals:
Steareth-20; emulsifying, waxy, fully synthetic chemical that may be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, which is is toxic to our respiratory system and is classified as a skin and eye irritant.
PEG-150 stearate; emulsifier, PEG compounds may also be contaminated
Polysorbate 60; synthetic surfactant
Cetearyl alcohol; white, waxy, naturally occurring fatty alcohol
There’s no indication on the packaging that this was produced at a GMP facility or that it was 3rd party tested, so it’s impossible to ascertain exactly what you’re putting on your skin.
This product would be great if they just replaced this with a naturally occurring wax rather than a synthetic chemical cocktail.
Pricing is reasonable for this product as compared to other similar offerings by other manufacturers.
I was hoping for a more natural alternative to the major brand KP cream I’m currently using. But this is just on par, and a bit more expensive. So overall I’d rate it as average, 3 stars.

I was so excited to try this to see if it helped with my bumpy skin only to be let down. Sure it makes your skin feel smooth, but that’s only because it covers it in a waxy substance. Every time I scratch an itch, I have to clean wax out from under my nails. Has potential to be great if they would have left out the wax. Definitely NOT buying again. Disappointed

I do think this will improve the bumps on my skin because I know that lactic acid is beneficial to that process. I think if you have this condition there is little to no harm in trying this product (little harm being that if you have sensitive skin, this might give you a reaction of some sort). My skin has taken fine to this cream and I have not had any issues so far. I believe the key is to also do some exfoliating on your own while you use this product afterwards. It will take a while to see any results but if you’re tired of “chicken skin” I think it’s worth the attempt of at least minimizing its appearance.

[As a vine reviewer, I am pledging not to be compensated or influenced by the vendor; I state my opinions based on my personal experience without any bias or pressure]
It is said that the legendary Queen Cleopatra bathed in milk to keep her skin soft and vibrant. Whether that is true or not, the moisturizer we are reviewing is made with Lactic Acid. Although this is a dermatological formulation for rough skin and other skin problems it is basically a clinical answer to dry skin. This US made product is made to exfoliate your skin and targets rough and bumpy skin in particular. The man and woman of our house both tried it in the past several days and certainly noticed a softer skin and the dryness reduced. For me my feet and elbows were the main problem spots and this solution clearly gave me some much needed relief. The cream is perfume free and the proportions are generous (12 Oz.). The packaging is a bit blans, and probably on purpose to instil confidence that this is a clinical formulation. The cream is also long lasting with expiry only 36 months later.
Given the effectiveness of this skin treatment and a reasonably priced quality product, we give this five stars.

I got this product for my daughter. She has tons of little bumps on her arms and legs. The doctor said it was KP and to find a moisturizer for KP. I looked at several different brands, the sizes, and the costs of course. This product is reasonably priced and really works. The only complaint is it doesn’t smell that great.

I used this a few times a week and it helped in opening up KP bumps. It doesn’t give results overnight though, but I’ve had bumps my whole life and never been able to reduce them. This products does help, but really takes consistent use to see results.
The lotion is creamy, a bit drying, and smells a bit chemical/medicinal. I also add another moisturizer at sometimes as this one is a bit drying.
