It came with a small booklet with instructions and user testimonials. I typically hesitate to use any kind of scrub on the face but after reading the testimonials, I decided to give it a try on the face. The texture of the scrub was not what I expected. I expected some kind of a paste but it’s a jar of loose grounds. It’s actually quite rough on the face, but after I rinsed it off, the skin felt very dewy. I was even wondering if I should apply any moisturizer but by the touch of the skin, I didn’t think I needed to, so I didn’t.
The scent is just coffee, as I can’t smell any cedarwood. One concern I had was whether the coffee grounds would damage the septic system. I did some research on their website, and they said the scrub was mostly sugar and the coffee was ground so fine that it wouldn’t hurt the septic system.
Update: I especially like this dry scrub on the body. It’s invigorating and it feels like a massage.

This face and body scrub is very unique in that it’s in powder form and not in paste form so it’s messy to use. I would only use this in the bath or shower. I put on a face mask that had a lot of thick serum so I rubbed this on top after taking the mask off so that helped it stay on. Otherwise you have to make sure you have a wet face or body so that it sticks on you.
It smells amazing and my body smelled like coffee afterwards too. I got the vanilla flavor and it smelled like what vanilla coffee tastes like. There’s shea butter in it and all the ingredients are natural. My skin felt very moisturized afterwards and there was no tightness and I didn’t even feel like I needed to put on any skincare. All in all, I love the natural ingredients and the scent and how my skin felt afterwards. This one is a really good one!

Best scrub out there! I absolutely love this product it leaves your skin extremely soft. I wish they sold bigger jar so I wouldn’t have to order them as often. Definitely try it you won’t regret it. Can be messy to use but it’s worth it.

This sounded very interesting. I love coffee, and I like the smell of pumpkin spice things.
When I opened this up, the seal thing that says “sealed for your protection wasn’t attached. It’s Styrofoam though so I figured it detached when I unscrewed the top as it didn’t feel like it would have had a solid grip in the container. Perhaps the seal is supposed to unseal when you unscrew it though, I know some chicken broth boxes alarmed me at first because when I opened them every tin foil seal was broken (and then I found out that that was supposed to happen when you untwist the top, so perhaps this is the same way.
When you open it up you get a smell of coffee and sort of a pumpkiny, cinnamony smell, though it didn’t quite smell like the pumpkin spice scents I’m used to smelling. It’s still nice though. I gently rubbed my wet face, using only a little bit, perhaps about a pinch. It gave good coverage all over my face so this canister, though small, should last a while. I left it on for about five minutes and then rinsed it off.
The coffee smell sort of stays with you afterward. This has Avocado oil, cocoanut oil and shea butter and other things, so I think that fact that one’s face still smells of it shows that the scrub’s oils really sunk into the skin, including the coffee. I used it again some days later. After both times of using it, when I would wash my face again later that day or the next morning with my regular cleanser, the smell would appear again, showing it’s still there.
Practically speaking, I don’t love how the smell lingers on/in my skin, though I think it does show it’s working. If it smelled a little more….I’m not sure how to describe it…if it smelled a little more like the coffee aisle when you walk down it, I wouldn’t really mind it. Or even if it smelled more like it smells dry in the canister, it wouldn’t bother me so much. But it reminds me of a smell I’ve sometimes noticed after drinking coffee, a smell that kind of reminds me of the smell of cigarettes . But again that’s just me, and how I perceive certain smells.
I’m not sure I’d recommend using this if you have cystic acne. I have cystic acne and it really seemed to aggravate it. At first I was thinking it was because of it being too abrasive for it, so the next time I didn’t rub it into the cysts that were on my face, I just plopped it on, but the pain still increased afterward. This type of thing has happened to me with other products, even makeup, so it’s not anything wrong with the product, I just have very picky acne. When I use it again I’ll try to just place it on the places on my face without acne.

I received the trio of scrubs, which includes coconut, vanilla, and mint. All of the scrubs smell very strongly of coffee, with the secondary scent being far weaker (but still detectable). The scrubs are made with organic ground coffee beans, and they look like tubs of coffee grounds so it was a little weird to use. However, the smell and feel were both great! It was easy to scoop the scrub from the jar and apply it, and it didn’t make as big of a mess as I expected. I’ve been using this in the shower, and it all washed away and went down the drain just fine and without any clumping. The scrub gently exfoliates without being drying, and the smell is seriously amazing. The trio is a great deal compared to the cost of an individual scrub, and it comes with a special branded pouch that would make this a great gift. A little bit goes a long way, so I think this trio will last a very long time. Great for coffee lovers!
