The smell isn’t what I expected but it’s not terrible. It reminds me a potpourri scent. The cleanser does do a great job at cleansing the skin but I ended up gifting this to my husband because to me it smells more like something he’d like and I was right – hubby loves it.

I’ve used all sorts of cleansing gels before, but I have to admit that this one is a bit different than most. That’s because when you massage this around your body, it actually gets kind of creamy. It will produce a nice lather that lets you know that you are getting a good, thorough cleansing that gets into the pores and deeply cleans your skin. I was surprised and impressed by that. Feels good on the skin and softens as it goes along. It stretches out well too so that you don’t need to use a whole lot per bath or shower. A little goes a long way.
I find the scent to be pleasant. Reminds me a lot of what I think of as a rain scent, but more of a sweet rain. Not really a traditional scent that one might smell with a bath product. To my nose, it has a more natural scent that is not too cloying or cheap smelling. It’s a clean scent that is somewhat strong at first, but will quickly go away as you rinse this off of your skin. Makes for a pleasant bathing experience.
Besides cleansing the skin, it also will help to moisturize and does so on a deep level. Seems to be very nourishing.
It’s a pretty deep bluish green gel. Will admit though because of the color, it makes it very difficult to read the black print on the outside of the clear bottle. That’s the one thing that I would suggest to the company to rework. Other than that, this is a very nice bath product that is good for both men and women alike.

I rarely review things but felt compelled. The price point for 8oz of this stuff is extremely steep, especially for a product with no scent whatsoever — as soon as you begin to lather the body wash, the scent goes away. Also made my skin feel sticky.
Don’t bother with this — pay another $20 and get the Le Labo Hinoki.

Like most, I tend to only write reviews when I either really love or really hate something. This is the latter. I adore the smell of Hinoki which this bills as its overriding scent. There is no smell of Hinoki anywhere with this product an and the citrus smells more like patchouli than tangerine. All this at a ridiculous price point. The only positive thing I can say is that the scent lasts for about 15 minutes before disappearing for the day. I wish there was a reasonably priced Hinoki body wash but this for sure isn’t it.

I literally did a side by side smell test comparing to some unscented body wash I have (for my kids) and I couldn’t tell the difference.
Total scam.

The scent of this product is really interesting. It’s woodsy and herbaceous, not necessarily citrus. It’s not unpleasant though just not what I expected. This bottle is small but it lathers really nicely and you don’t need a lot so it still lasts awhile. It cleans my skin well without over drying it and had really decreased my breakouts (on my back and shoulders). It feels more natural than most which I appreciate as well. I love everything I’ve used from this brand so far!

The listing for this 8 ounce bottle of citrus body wash says it has “elements of Hawaiian Ginger, Noni Fruit, Hibiscus, and Gardenia” so I mistakenly assumed that it would have a citrusy floral scent. Instead it has a scent that seems pretty typical for men’s shower products. I don’t smell any citrus, ginger, or gardenia. I only smell a strongly amber/sandalwood-type scent.
The bottle has a very nice flip cap that has a small hole underneath it. The body wash is very concentrated and only a little bit makes enough suds for a shower and rinsed off quickly without leaving my skin dry. It is a pretty light blue color.
It is a nice product, just not what I expected. If it had a citrusy-floral scent I would have given it 5 stars.

This smells much more floral than I expected with 2 citrus types called out in the smell. I assume that’s the hinoki. I barely notice any citrus. Otherwise, a fine body wash but nothing special.
