This review is for the Drunk Elephant Stay on Tropic: The Nourishing Kit, which comes with three premium sample sizes of moisturizing face products. One is a small ceramic bottle of oil with an eyedropper, the one with a reddish-pink top is a thick custardy face cream, and the one with a blue top is a light gel moisturizer. There’s enough in each of these to give you a feel for whether you like them or DE products in general. I think this would make a nice gift, especially in drier winter months, since two of the three products are heavier and designed to lock moisture into skin with a more occlusive effect.

I’ve wanted to try Drunk Elephant products for years now, but I’m so frugal I never could get myself to actually do it. I was excited to have this opportunity. At 0.5 oz per product, the serum and facial oil were a bit bigger than expected. I LOVE the pump on the serum, how it can go up and back down too. The barrier cream is very small looking. I liked all 3 products a lot. The cream is SO thick and absorbent, my super dry skin loved it. I find it hard to believe this is considered a bargain at $52 and says it’s a $73 value though. But I know it’s a luxury brand and all 3 products are nice.

This skin care set is so adorable! These travel-size products are a great stocking stuffer or other gift for anyone who loves luxury skincare. This set is great for moisturizing, but might seem a little much if your skin is oily. Keep in mind none of these items contain SPF, so make sure to add some if you’re wearing this during the day!

A great kit, probably good for travel as well since they are decently small sized. All arrived well in good condition and in joyful colors. Has face oil, a cream, and serum. All 3 are really nice, and haven’t had any issues with either so far. I enjoyed the high quality of these and will get again!

This is the first time I have tried Drunk Elephant products and I am so happy with this facial kit. The instructions recommend one pump of the B hydra and 1-2 drops of the virgin marula oil into my palm and immediately applying to my face and that’s what I have been doing. I do not find this to be overly oily on my skin, it is absorbed rather quickly. The bora barrier repair cream is thick and rich and feels lovely on my skin. This is a perfect kit for travel or for anytime really, I am really enjoying it and I’m not on a trip lol.

This arrived in the cute little box as shown and the items were well packaged inside so they arrived in perfect shape. I followed the directions for use by adding one pump of the B-Hydra and 2 drops of the Marula Oil to the Bora Barrier in my palm. The cream has a thick consistency and barely any scent. The oil is typical for a face oil in consistency and, again, had barely any scent. The B-Hydra has an odd top – you have to twist it to get the pump above the lid so you can press it and dispense. To close you twist again, which I found got product on the top. I’d say to keep it twisted open once you start to use it. The texture was also surprising to me – for some reason I expected a thinner serum consistency but it’s sort of a thicker formula. It also had barely any scent, and the three products mixed together really easily and well. They also applied to the face very well and left no smell behind, though they never did soak totally into my skin. I haven’t tried putting makeup over top of the mixture but would caution that it might pill or slip. I didn’t notice a ton of redness reduction but it also didn’t make it worse which is really all I look for with my rosacea.
Overall, though, it’s a really nice combo and kept my face feeling super moisturized all day and night without ever leaving my skin feeling dry. I need more time to be sure but so far it hasn’t broken me out or clogged my pores. As of now I’d easily give it a 5/5 and recommend it to anyone with dry skin.

This is a lovely little trial/travel kit. I love that it comes packaged in fun colors that reminds me of storybook tropics and is a nice little pick me up in my skincare routine as the weather gets colder and colder where I live. It makes for a wonderful gift item as well.
It comes with a face oil, cream and serum. The face oil and serum are really nice. The oil feels luxuriously hydrating without being too oily – it absorbs well and gives a soft glow to my face without any residue or greasiness left behind. The serum is also gentle and effective and the twist pump is both practical and fun to operate. The cream is thick and hydrating but has a slight oily type of scent I don’t particularly care for. It’s subtle though so it’s not too bad.
While I really enjoyed trying out all the products in this set and they all performed well, I have to say that this is kind of pricey for the amount of product you get. It’s definitely a luxury skincare item and a nice way to pamper myself while on the go, but quality and performance does come at a little bit of a cost.
