I use Neutrogena Water Cream, so I thought I would give this a try. It works just like the cream maybe a little easier to apply because it is a gel. I really like how it makes my skin feel. I use it in the morning and at night. This is not a fragrance free product. This jar can be used with refillable pods.

Well, goodness. This is not a good listing to purchase from. It clearly states in two places that there is a jar with 1.7 oz of moisturizer and a refill included.

Yet, all you get from this listing is a 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙉𝙊 𝙅𝘼𝙍 and no way to keep this from evaporating unless you have a sealing jar that you can transfer this to. As you can see from the seller’s (Amazon) other listing values with just a jar, it is easy to tell that this really was originally intended to be what it says: both a jar with moisturizer and a refill to go with it.
The moisturizer itself is very nice and would have rated 5 stars had I gotten the jar and the refill. It makes my skin feel hydrated without feeling too heavy in this hot weather. No matter how hypoallergenic, cream or lotion moisturizers make my face feel sweaty when temperatures are in the upper 90’s and low 100’s This moisturizes, but leaves my face still feeling fresh and clean. This version is very lightly scented, but if you don’t like scented things they make an unscented version, too.

I found this gel moisturizer to be acceptable, but I didn’t love it and likely wouldn’t tell a friend to try it.
The product itself kind of feels like smearing my kiddos’ slime on my face, which is a little offputting. It’s cooling and refreshing when it first goes on, but I felt like this needed to be rubbed in more than my typical gel moisturizer…it kind of felt like I was just pushing it around waiting for it to absorb. The dry time was a little longer than I expected and I didn’t love the smell – it’s labeled as “signature scent”, whatever that is.
My skin does not seem to have any negative side effects or reactions after using this, and my skin is feeling hydrated and soft. It seems like an acceptable product
I (wrongly) assumed that this would come with the refillable jar (already filled) + a refill, like many starter kits do, but it just comes with the blue jar full of product. The inner pod can be removed and chucked when empty. Then you would buy a refill to install it into your blue jar. I was also surprised that the reusable jar is still just #1 plastic – I figured (again, wrongly) that the point of this product was to use less plastic, so this jar should really be made of glass with a sturdy metal lid. I’m unimpressed and unfooled by the faux conservation efforts here.
I typically am really happy with my Neutrogena products, but this one is not my favorite. It’s fine, but that’s it.

The inner pod does not open. Page says to twist counter clockwise a bit. Yeah right. It is sealed shut tight. I have tried prying the lid off and hurt my fingers a lot, digging deep under the fingernails. I have tried twisting it again and again. It won’t open.

I’ve been using this water gel face moisturizer for a while now, and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! The quality is fantastic, and as someone with oily skin, this is the only moisturizer that keeps my skin comfortable. It absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. I’m also pleased that this new version is refillable; once the jar is empty, you can easily replace it with a refill pot. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this water gel moisturizer and highly recommend it!

Just know when you order you are getting a jar with one pod already inside. Product discription says: 1 jar:Net Wt. 1.7 oz + 1 refill: net at. 1.7 oz.
You are actually just getting 1.7 oz of Hydro Boost.

Admittedly I thought I was getting hydro boost cream and this was gel, but I thought it would fit in my cream container (it didn’t, even though they’re both 1.7 oz). That was my bad, I guess. But the scent is really something—detergent? Dryer sheets? It’s odd for skincare imo. It feels fine on, I just scooped it into my hydro boost cream container and was good to go.
