I’ve tried several other creamers of this type and would say that this is the closest to a “true” creamer that I have found. The vanilla is a bit pronounced for my tastes, but my wife thought it to be perfect. I did find that like many powdered creamers, when added to a hot beverage like coffee, it tends to leave large clumps. I will say that this creamer did not leave nearly as many or as large as many others brands, but they were still there. I deal with this by making a slurry of the creamer first, adding 2 to 3 tablespoons of powder to about 1 tablespoon of cool water and mixing. It makes enough for me to have my morning mug(about 22oz) of coffee. It is a bit thinner in body and color than typical half and half type creamers but does a decent job, especially for those with dietary considerations (Keto or vegan). With the collagen and magnesium components I do find that after a week and change of using this product I see a difference in my skin. It does not seem to be as dry as usual this time of the year but it also brighter. My concern lies with the portion size, 2 tablespoons per 8 fluid ounces means there is only 12 servings per container. If you are using this as a creamer alone, that can be an expensive endeavour, especially if you have several cups of coffee/tea a day. If you are using it as a dietary supplement for the collagen factor, then this would stretch it out a but further with 1 serving a day. While I would not use this as a daily creamer, it does make a nice addition to the occasional smoothie/milkshake and looking at it along those lines the price of $23 is not unreasonable.

I have a love hate relationship with coffee creamer, either they are too sweet or artificial tasting. Not this one, this one is pleasant and mildly sweet. I will reorder, actually enjoy this! It does need a little mixing, but I feel it’s worth it!

I tried this in some instant coffee today and ended up pouring it out. Maybe it was a bad batch of coffee, maybe it was this. But I added the serving to a little cup and 1) it didn’t change the color like adding cream should and 2) you couldn’t taste the flavor beyond the slightest hint and 3) it clumps like nobody’s business. I used the spoon to smoosh the clumps and ended up having to scrub the spoon because the bits stuck to it and hardened, and wouldn’t come off under running water immediately after. I have used this brand of magnesium supplements and liked them so I feel like the ingredients are high quality, but this was definitely not the creamy tasty dairy free treat I was looking forward to. I might try it in a smoothie so it doesn’t go to waste, but will test it with a small portion.

This collagen creamer which includes coconut milk powder and natural vanilla flavoring smells delicious like a coconut chocolate bar. Unfortunately, it doesn’t translate that well in coffee. It clumps a bit so it takes some mixing to get it to dissolve properly. I think it’s a bit too sweet for my usual flavor of morning coffee so I tried it in a dark roast decaf that I sometimes have later in the day and it was better in that.
KAL is a well known company that produces many other supplements and has been in business since 1932. I feel like I can trust the ingredients to be what they say they are. Plus its manufactured in a GMP manufacturing facility and lab tested which is reassuring. This product has 9 grams of protein and only 3 carbs making it suitable for use while on the KETO diet. It contains 10 grams of hydrolyzed bovine collagen which is about what’s in my usual collagen powder.
I like the smell of it and it certainly improved the taste of that decaf, but it’s rather expensive so I likely won’t order it again.

I think this is a good idea for a coffee creamer, as it adds protein, magnesium and collagen to my morning coffee, and these are the ingredients I already try to add to my diet. I find the taste to be a little too sweet for my taste, and it was very difficult for me to get it to dissolve. The lumps remained no matter how much I stirred. The lumps also got very hard if left on cups or utensils and were hard to wash. I had to soak in hot water for a long time and still had to scrape off. This would probably dissolve fine in a blended drink such as a smoothie, but then it would hardy be a creamer, and I think the sweet taste would be too overpowering. Perhaps other people would like the taste and maybe others would have better luck getting it to dissolve in their coffee. So will still give it four stars the ingredients.

Is it just me? Whenever I try to use an alternative to cream in coffee, whether coconut milk or almond milk or, now, this collagen creamer, I’m always disappointed by the fact that it does not LOOK like coffee with creamer, but rather just a muddy-looking version of coffee. perhaps I’m looking for a miracle when the only solution for making it look like it’s got cream in it is to put cream in it? 🙂
Taste wise, it was pretty close though; it kind of sort of did taste like I had coffee with creamer in it. So if the appearance isn’t the high priority for you, then this might make you perfectly pleased. Because the taste is not bad, and even sort of good.
One of the thing that was less than ideal: it was a bit lumpy inside when I opened it, not all strictly powder. No big deal if it dissolves well. However, it did not dissolve well when I simply spoon-stirred it; all the lumps were still there. I used one of those small electric coffee whiskers, and it did pretty much get rid of the lumpiness that way. If you already have and use a whisker, then this, too, will be no big deal. And if you don’t have such a whisker, I recommend considering one in your arsenal of kitchen things — very useful, not just for this!
The only other downside is the price. The container is not very large and the instructions advise using 2 tablespoons per 8 ounce mug of coffee. At its current price listing, that makes every cup of coffee $2.50 worth of this coffee creamer! That ain’t chump change….
