I have used different products from this brand and they have all been of good quality, this one is no exception, It is a small bottle though so for the price I wish it had more product but regardless it is a good moisturizer, A little goes a long way, specially if you apply it after an oil or a toner when your skin is still moist. I’m very appreciative of this brand being vegan and cruelty free, we need more brands to follow suit.
My bottle came open unfortunately but this is a problem on Amazon and not the brand, they sent it in an Amazon envelope so the box was flattened and the bottle came out into the envelope and the cap unscrewed itself and some product was released, I still got 3 quarters of product to use though so not a huge deal, I just wish Amazon was more careful.

This is a light, quick absorbing serum that is wonderful for providing light hydration in warmer weather. Once applied it absorbs almost promptly which is great. I can apply and go and not deal with sweat immediately causing the product to slide off my face and my makeup along with it. I love the Youth to the People Superfood Facial Cleanser with kale and green tea as a summertime/warm weather face wash (it’s super gentle and doesn’t strip skin). and the two products work well together. The serum feels cooling when applied which is always a plus in hot weather. It doesn’t provide a suitable base for makeup, but it doesn’t cause my primer to pill up or not stick. If I accidentally get too close to my eyes, there’s no irritation – another welcome bonus. Overall it’s one of the top serums I’ve used over the years.
Unfortunately, I can’t give the product five stars because the bottle has some serious issues. I don’t know why, but the pump will not stay tight. It can be tightened down in the morning after using the pump to dispense product, and by the time it rolls around for my nighttime skincare routing the pump has become halfway loose. Right after I got this bottle, I packed it in my travel kit for a trip. When I unpacked my suitcase at the destination, this serum had leaked all over the inside of my travel kit and about 1/4 of the product was gone. What the heck? I wiped everything down and retightened the top. Next morning it was loose again. There doesn’t seem to be any issues with the threading on the glass container or the plastic pump ring/collar. There’s been no change in the smell of the product, so I don’t believe the product has gone bad and is gassing off due to fermentation. I stopped by my local Sephora where they sell Youth to the People, and both clerks said this particular product has had multiple people come back to exchange their bottles for new ones because the cap wouldn’t stay secure. I love this serum, and ended up scooping it into a screw top jar. That jar hasn’t had any instances where the top has loosened on its own, so it has to be something with the bottle design from YttP.
I’m dismayed that I lost so much of the serum to leakage because it’s shown promise in fading old cystic acne scars on my jawline. I bought another bottle after this one was finished. Shocker – that bottle had the same issues with staying tightened down. At least this time I didn’t loose any to leakage. So the product is a legitimate five stars, but the container is design is horrible.

Youth To The People Superfood Skin Drip Smooth + Glow Barrier Face Serum Review
When I first noticed this product something about the page made me think it was probably just for young women. I remember thinking that the ingredients such as kale, spinach, broccoli and green tea (among others) just didn’t sound “strong” enough for my 72 year old skin plus as usual in most cosmetics ads all the women look so very young. I didn’t see retinol and other “heavy duty” ingredients I am more used to using although when I saw niacinamide that is what made me decide to try this serum. I’m not super happy with how this product is packaged. My serum was enclosed in a nice enough cosmetic box with the usual instructions, ingredients and address information but there wasn’t any kind of seal to let me know if the box had been previously opened. I looked for and didn’t see an expiration date but all product printing seems too small to me now. Then I removed the bottle and still didn’t see an expiration date and the bottle didn’t have a safety seal on it. Years ago I wouldn’t have thought a thing about not having a safety seal but nowadays I am really more comfortable with one. But everything looked ok so I tried it.
I waited until after showering to use this for the first time and was surprised at not only how much I liked how this felt on my face but how it made by face look after it dried in a minute or so. It actually did make my face look dewy and that is unexpected at my age. I really like this serum. There was’t any kind of unpleasant reaction to this product. My skin felt moisturized but I mainly like how my skin appears when this is applied to my face. I very seldom wear makeup any more because it usually causes me more issues than it benefits me so having a good moisturizer is even more important to me and this serum seems perfect so far for my very mature skin. This serum is in a pump type bottle which I do appreciate. It seems more hygienic to me and is easy and I don’t have to worry about spills if I accidentally knock it over while I’m using it. There is a very faint fragrance but I had to unscrew the lid to finally get a whiff of any. I didn’t notice any fragrance when I applied it but I did notice fragrance is listed in the ingredients so I had to go back and try to find it and it is very faint but pleasant.
