Good packing. Tablets are easy to swallow .The smooth capsule is easy to swallow. However this supplement unlike Jarrow’s Arginine or DHEA is more a preventive supplement and probably will take many months or years to show up any results (or lack of it). It is rather expensive and am looking for another cheaper source to continue the regimen. I bought is for eye health.

I bought this to help with my night blindness.. I dreaded driving at night and would not if I could help it because the bright glare of headlights literally blinded me and so did the reflection of my lights on roadsigns and it scared the hell out of me. I even tried those yellow sunglasses for night driving but they did not help. I am 48 and thought I was going to have to have cornea surgery like my mom but I have no insurance :(. So I googled supplements to help with night blindness/vision problems and this came up.I talked to my dad who is 74 and he said take this it works and that he has been taking it for 20 yrs and has perfect vision.. So I bought this and took 2 on Monday, took 2 on Tuesday and one Wednesday morning on my way out the door at 4am for work for my dreaded 26 mile drive to work in the dark…And as I was driving I slowly realized that the glare of my headlights on the roadsigns did not bother me and that the headlights of other cars did glare at me and i did not have to turn my mirrors like I usually did to try to avoid the lights. As I drove in the dark to work I thought OMG I can flippin see! lol The bright glare of lights were no longer blinding me..This cured my night vision problems and cured them fast. Amazing, just amazing…It is so nice to be able to see to drive at night again liki when i was in my 20 and 30s..

Last year, my optometrist told me to start at least 20 mg lutein, preferably 25, with the requisite 2 mg of zeaxanthin, too. The highest quality brand on Amazon is Pure Encapsulations. I decided to rotate between the two supplements, because PE’s capsules are rather large. But this Jarrow product smells funny and I’m extremely sensitive. So I just put it in the freezer with my fish oil, and take them at the same time. Out of the freezer, the little bit of odor it has doesn’t bother me at all.
1 year update: I’ve actually stuck with the Jarrow lutein. I still keep it in the freezer, and it’s never bothered my gut.

This review is for green-eyed people (like me). A few years ago, I met a man with green eyes who asked me if I had good night vision. I told him I have excellent night vision. He then asked about my day vision and I admitted that it had been many years since I had been able to go outside without sunglasses because I would get a headache if I did. He told me that he always asked these questions of green-eyed people and the answer is the same for everyone… great night vision but sensitivity to bright lights. For me, however, there was one more negative that I hadn’t really noticed and that was that the sky no longer seemed blue. Instead, over time, the blue sky looked whitish gray to me. I can see most shades of blue, but the sky had lost it’s beauty for me.
In the past year, I have had some disturbing new symptoms. Before, I could wear any sunglasses outside and be fine, but last year, I noticed that I was getting headaches again. I had to switch to polarized glasses to avoid a headache and that was working great. Then six months ago, right around my 40th birthday, I noticed that my eyesight was becoming blurry when I read, especially when I was tired. I finally got an eye test and ended up with reading glasses that really didn’t seem to help… so I don’t use them. Instead, I just put up with the slight discomfort I get when I shift my gaze from my phone to somewhere across the room (which is better than doing that with reading glasses…)
Now…up to modern day… I found these vitamins a month ago on Amazon and decided to try it because of the reviews. I’m finally on a regular routine with these and have been on them for about two or three weeks now. The past couple days, I’ve accidentally left the house without my glasses and was surprised to find that not only did I not get a headache from the bright light, but the sky actually looks blue again. I’ve tried reading at different times of the day or night and haven’t really noticed any blurriness, but I have noticed that it’s getting easier for me to focus on things both far away and close up without the usual twinge of discomfort. I really thought people were exaggerating here on Amazon, but I’m happy to say they’re not. So if you are considering trying these, try them… especially if you have green eyes and have any of the symptoms that I mentioned. Only one pill a day and you can have your young eyes back again in about 3 weeks.

This is NOT made of egg yolk. It is simply capsules with sunflower oil inside. They smell bad too. It is just like eating a spoon full of sunflower cooking oil. I am very disappointed.
