This roller is great.
I spent an embarrassingly large amount of time trying to choose which roller to buy, but in the end settled on GingerChi, because GingerChi is a real store in New York (which means that the roller may have a larger chance of actually being jade, instead of some cheap-o fake dyed junk).
When the roller arrived, I compared it to two pieces of verified jade I own, and it looks just like the pale green piece of nephrite jade. Yay!
Now, as for function, I’m happy with that, too. It really is very soothing and calming. In fact, it’s so soothing that I ordered one for my mom, who had bronchitis and a sinus infections. She loved her new roller, and credits it with partially helping her get over the sinus infection.
FYI: if you can’t choose between a gua sha and a roller, you may want to try ordering both. I like my GingerChi GUA SHA Scraping Massage Tool – GUASHA JADE – GUA SHA Massage Tool Set Ultra Smooth for Natural Face Lift and Facial Treatment better than the roller, but my mom likes the roller better.

The Product: This jade roller is amazing! It helps reduce puffiness and tension in the face, and the jade feels so amazing on your skin. I’ve noticed definite improvement in my face/neck since starting to use it two weeks ago; my face is less puffy, feels less tense, and looks tighter and more toned! I bought one as a gift for my mother as well and she noticed the same improvements after just one use. She also commented that it helped with her sinus headache.
The Seller: Ginger Chi is fantastic! When I ordered the two rollers, one was perfect but on the second one, the small roller didn’t roll. I emailed Ginger Chi and they responded within an hour or so (on a Saturday!); they apologized for the faulty roller and sent out a replacement that Monday morning. I received a new roller three days later along with some candy and a hand-written note!

A couple of friends of mine were raving about this product and the practice of jading your face. They warned that there were many rollers out there some better than others. I read all the reviews for GingerChis and decided to try theirs. I have not een disappointed and I’m addicted now to the wonderful pampering feeling of using the roller. I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks but I have definitely felt and seen the difference not only on the puffiness on areas of my face but also difference with sinus issues I tend to have. It does “what it says on the tin” as the saying goes. I definitely have felt sinus pressure relief and have notice less puffiness around my eyes. I also have always had issues with dark circles and have tried everything on the sun over the years and I have seen a slight difference even in that.
Some of the reviews I read said the roller was “noisy”; although it is not silent because it is a moving mechanism the sound is ever so slight at least the one I have so it’s nothing loud or annoying that hampers the experience or effect. It is simply the sound of something moving- along the lines of rolling a marble rolling on the floor to best describe it. For me it’s not a loud or an issue.
I use it a few times a day, in the evenings just while watching telly because it feels so lovely after a long day. The jade is a naturally cool stone so even without putting it in the fridge as some suggested they do, at room temperature it still feels cool and nice.
I really love it and worth the price.

First time ordering a jade roller having seen it on a “Hello Hunnay” FB show. As recommended, I put it in the freezer before I use it in the morning and it feels great on the face to wake me up. I like the added bonus of the oil and have been using the oil to roll on my face and neck. The oil works well with my skin and I like the smell of it for the calming effect while rolling. After two weeks of use, I ordered the full bottle of the oil. The roller works really well on my face and especially on my side neck to lower skull area to massage the ache and pain that I constantly have in that area. It is better massage than my manual massage. I find it beneficial to massage the lymphatic nodes and overall “Chi”. The squeak of the roll is normal. Showed my mother how to use it and she wanted one too so I ordered it for her as a gift. My 4 year old daughter sees me rolling it and even she wants to do it, but without the oil. Overall, I find it a good product to use and for gifting.

I received the Jade roller by the delivery date promised. It’s well made and looks exactly like its pictured on Amazon. It also includes very comprehensive instructions/pictures for use, and it comes in a cloth bag for storage. I’ve had it for less than a week so have only used it a 3 times, so I can’t really provide feedback on results thus the 4-star rating, but it feels great on the skin and the merchant service was great!

I’ve been doing Tanaka-style facial massage for years now (with my hands) and was curious about this roller after reading about a recommendation in a newspaper article. First of all, it’s very pretty, and having things that are both beautiful and useful is always nice. The fact that it is made of jade is appealing to me – I put a lot of stock in products being made from natural materials. As for use, it’s much different than using one’s hands – much less pressure is necessary. I like it on the forehead and cheeks and it’s quite soothing and cooling under the eyes. I find it less comfortable to use along the jawbone. As others have mentioned, it squeaks as it rolls, which does detract a bit from the relaxation part, but overall, I find it to be a well-made product. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks so can’t yet address long-term benefits but if it works like facial massage, then it will be worthwhile. I’m looking forward to summer – I plan to refrigerate it and use it chilled on hot days.
