It’s hard to know to what extent placebo is at play here, but I have definitely felt better since starting taking this. Within a day or two, a general sense of “okayness” came over me in a fairly dramatic way. I’ve also noticed a significant lessening of OCD type symptoms. To be sure, I do plenty of other things for purposes of self improvement in addition to taking 5htp. So there are a lot of variables. But my intuition, for what it’s worth, is that this is good stuff.

My dr. Suggested taking 5htp but didn’t offer a brand – so many of my other supplements are from this company so I ordered from them — I have tried to take them a few times and cannot fall asleep — normally I am in bed by 9pm— these kept me up so late and I get up early for yoga— not for me .

I’ve used this for a few years and has been extremely helpful with seasonal depression in the winter and low weeks. Start with 1 and after awhile you can move to two, but ALWAYS take with food or you’ll feel really nauseous an hour later. I take this only when I need it because it is a great natural way to help your body catch up on serotonin regulation. It’s difficult for your body to produce large amounts of 5 htp when you’re going through a depressive or stressful period. The more you take it, the more you’ll notice a change in your mood and during depressing times. It has been very helpful for me, and is a staple to have in my cabinet for when I or a family member needs a little natural help.

this is way better than melatonin….it helps me fall asleep right away and i am able to have a very deep sleep, in the morning i don’t feel exhausted or needing to sleep more, i feel energetic throughout the day….
