Product looks good for kid or child below 10 years. Safe to use for them. As stream is not in that high flow kids can use safely and inhale without issue.
Not suitable for adults as the steam is not sufficient for them.

I got this product for a sinus infection. I read the reviews that said the steam output is not all that good. I found the steam output to be very good. I was concerned that the steam would not last long, I just timed it at 22 minutes.
Our hot water heater is set at the customary 120 degrees. I would rate the steam better than from a hot shower. Very easy to use. I use a lip balm to protect my lips.
The little control to adjust the steam level works well.

This is a nice little steam inhaler, it doesn’t take up too much space and works pretty well, you have to have time for it to prep before starting the steam so make sure you set aside time before you sit down to use it beforehand.
You can purchase little scent pieces for the inhaler to provide you with a pleasant and relaxing smell which also benefits you, some are provider with the purchase of the steam inhaler which I appreciate because it gives you an idea of the fundamentals of how they work and what it does for you.
It was a bit pricey to me personally, even with a full tank it doesnt really run that long so I believe that the best use for this is when you are doing your skincare routine, preparing to go to sleep or possibly in the morning when you wake up to jumpstart your day with a little buzz from the steam.
Overall not a bad buy, but really only worth it if you can implement it within your routine considering using it will take some time for set-up and actually inhaling the steam.

This steam inhaler is a definite improvement over the previous Vicks unit I was using because this unit is actually designed as a sinus steam inhaler. I have used it for 3 weeks and it works fairly well. I do wish it produced a little more steam but it generates a decent amount given the price or the unit. One thing that needs serious improve is the face mask’s connection to the main unit. After a week’s use, the mask began warping out of shape (due to the soft nature of the plastic used coupled with the constant exposure to the super hot steam I suspect) making it prone to not wanting to stay securely on the main unit and making it frustratingly difficult to get it to securely fit onto the grooves on the main unit. Once I finally managed to push it completely back on the unit and securely attach it, it seems to be acting better but still has a tendency to want to “flip its lid” at the slightest bump or nudge. But, it does a fairly good good supplying steam at a mere fraction of the price of My Pur Mist. My Pur Mist is superb and superior while it works, only problem is, it only works for any where from one day to 3 weeks before it malfunctions. A couple of years ago, I had one last 9 months. Last year, I tried again and went through one unit which immediately malfunctioned, followed by 2 replacements that lasted anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks each. This Vicks unit is affordable alternative and does help clear congestion. The feature that I really like is that the water reservoir chamber is enclosed by a locked cover and a seal which keeps boiling water from accidentally spilling or splattering about. I have my fingers crossed that the unit will last for a decent amount of time.

I often have sinus issues and have been trying to find the best home remedies to get some relief and came across this steam inhaler with good reviews. Not sure if I got a bad unit, but based on some other reviews it is not uncommon for this item to essentially be useless.
Mine had two major issues. First, it barely creates any steam to inhale. Of course I was not expecting a huge plume of steam since this is meant to just create some steam to breathe in and not actually boil the water, but this thing barely creates even a few wisps of steam. There is a vent that you can adjust to let out more or less steam, and even on the widest opening there is barely anything to breathe in, defeating the entire purpose of this item.
Second, my unit did not disperse steam evenly, at all. I don’t know if the heating element in mine was not heating the water evenly or what, but the right side of the inhaler basically had no steam coming up, and any steam that was produced only went to the left side… The inhaler is a mostly enclosed item, so it’s not like any sort of wind/air would be moving the steam to one side. Plus, I was using the unit in an indoor room by myself so there was absolute not sort of air movement that would affect where the steam went. The only explanation is that the steamer does not heat up the water evenly or the venting system was not made properly to disperse the steam evenly…
Might be low tech, but honestly you’re better off boiling some water and pouring it into a thermos or a thick cup to retain as much heat as possible, and try to breathe in the steam coming from your thermos/cup. It works 100x better than this inhaler and costs nothing. If I am looking for a more consistent source of steam for a longer period of time, I have considered buying a small induction burner to heat up water in a small pot and doing the towel-over-head method, plus an induction burner doubles as a cooking appliance.
Needless to say, I would not buy this, and I returned my unit for a refund.

This item works great, especially if you add the vapopads.
Only downside is how shortlived each refill of water lasts.
If you want something longer-lasting, you’d need to get a different option from Vick’s.
