I ordered this ICONIC LONDON Prep Set Tan Mousse in Original. I’m fairly light-skinned, but I do pick up a pretty good tan most summers as I spend a lot of time outdoors.
However, the lower part of my legs, shins and calves, never/won’t/don’t tan. It’s always been frustrating because that part of my body ends up looking so mismatched to the rest of me. I’ve tried loads of self-tanners over the years, and never had good luck with them – they were either streaky, produced orange results, or both. So while I was hopeful to try this ICONIC LONDON Prep Set Tan Mousse, I was also a bit hesitant.
I exfoliated from my knees down, really well and applied a light moisturizer. I used a tanning applicator to put the mousse on, and worked to make sure I’d put it on evenly. Then I waited and hoped for the best.
After I while, I checked out my legs in the mirror. My lower legs looked tan (not orange!) They weren’t as tan as my upper legs, so I applied a second coat, and waited again. That did the trick! I was honestly shocked at how natural my lower legs looked!
The tan did eventually wear off (showers + pool time), but it faded out gently. At no point did I notice it looking patchy or streaky. I think for our short summer season if I applied one layer every few days, I could keep it looking solid all the way through.
I really am impressed with this tanning mousse! It’s nice to have finally found one that works for me!

I really love the shade of this tanner. It is not orange, but also not too cool toned for me. It looks very natural! The foam application is easy to use. I don’t use mitts, I just like to use my bare hands and then wash thoroughly after applying. It doesn’t have a foul odor like some other tanners. The shimmer in the bottle is very pretty.

I love the natural-looking tan that I get from this Iconic London tanning mousse. I am fair skinned, and this mousse gives me a light-to-medium tan. I use it once a week after a shower. It lasts just fine through the showers in-between applications. I use exfoliating mitts and moisturize every time I shower, which keeps my skin in good condition. I apply it on moist skin. I do not use any moisturizers or oils before applying. Application is easy, and I use gloves to rub the mousse into my skin evenly. The tan takes several hours to develop. I’ve had no streaks or patches. It doesn’t come off on my clothes or bedding. The mousse seems unscented to me, at least I barely smell anything. The shimmery fine glitter shows in the bottle, but it doesn’t show on my skin.

Absolutely no orange in sight. I love the mousse formula, it makes for an easy application that has no weight or oily feel to it. I put mine on before bed and make sure I exfoliate well in the shower. I do use a mitt and for my back I have an applicator that helps me rub it in. The result is a bronze shade that leans brown and it gets me about 3 shades darker in just that one application. If I do another I can darken 4 to 5. Really great stuff.

First off – give this product time to marinate before reapplying. The instructions say wait 4-8 hours for the full effect. I marked off a section of my arm and tested it there. I gave it a few hours and then didn’t really notice too much of a difference so I did another half pump. A few hours later I caught sight of myself in th mirror and whoa the color change was very noticeable. I think it was the lighting and the fact I was looking at such a small area that I didn’t catch the differences correctly. I had a BLOCK of brown-bronzed color on my arm. It wasn’t orangey at all.
I used a tanning brush to help buff this in and I felt that I got a good even tone out of it. Application is very easy. The product did feel a little sticky for a while and that’s really my only complaint with application. Once it dried down it didn’t feel like anything.
I tried rubbing this off with a washcloth in the shower. I noticed a SLIGHT different in hue but nothing super noticeable. I think the tan should last a while as long as you’re not doing any heavy exfoiliating.
I will say that this product is expensive to me (as some who doesn’t invest a lot of money in self tanners) but at least it doesn’t easily wash off.
As a side note, the scent reminds me of my old barbie dolls. It’s kind of nostalgic.

I feel like I have loved every product that I’ve tried from Iconic London (their lip glosses are some of the best out there) and this self tanner is another hit. I love that it’s in mousse form meaning that it’s very beginner friendly and you don’t feel like you’re going to mess it up even if you’re a novice. The directions are straightforward and easy to follow. Note that it does take time for the tan to develop so wait for several hours to see how it turned out.
