This is very strong and it works. After trying a number of different skullcaps, I realized that this isn’t the right herb for me, but of all the ones I tried, this was the most effective and had the least impurities.
Other brands hurt my liver or gave me small allergic reactions (I am very sensitive to pesticides and other chemicals).
But I recommend starting with a very small amount to see how your body reacts, as skullcap (when you find a good one) is a strong detoxifier.

Well I suggest you read Stephen Harrod Buhner’s book “Herbal Antivirals: Natural Remedies for Emerging & Resistant Viral Infections” particularly page 55. It links the ACE-2 ( Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 ) as the gateway if you will for the current virus. Licorice and Chinese Skullcap root are at top of the list to fortify this enzyme. It worth note that this enzyme has been documented to decrease in humans as they age which may partially account for that link.
Dr. Buhner PhD has researched this topic far more than any other published author I can currently find. I find his advise, research and observations quite believable. That being said not only can you enjoy all the other wonderful things this herb will purportedly bring you, it appears that it may be an excellent prophylaxis in the toolkit for the current health concern.
I am sorry I have used such vague terms. I don’t wish to have my review tampered with and I believe certain words or phrases will set off some flags here. I will caution you to read a respected research source as this herb will interact with some very small number but significant prescription medications. You should always do a thorough check or better yet consult your health care practitioner before taking any supplement.
I can tell you as a scientist all that I have read in regards to the current “crisis” (which has some dubious motivation) this is an excellent defense. If you are on an immune system moderating drug, I would read the aforementioned book and heed his advise including the herbs he mentions. You are at the greatest risk and one of the root causes of all this generated panic.
I would like to ad that now that the 70 day acute infection cycle has passed, I am a customer of this product for life. It has some incredible uses in Eastern Medicine. I invite anyone reading this to do some homework and research this product. What I found compelling about this brand offered is that it has been produced and tested to pharmaceutical standards in China. One thing that is very worth noting (I apologize for the caps) THIS IS NOT North American aka American skullcap and there are some pronounced differences between the two. Both do have some minor sedating tendencies so I put a scoop in my evening’s peppermint tea. The taste may be a problem for some so you may have to be creative.

I use it always when start feeling under the weather or a scratchy throat etc.. I take it before going to bed and the next day I am good to go. Great herb, great quality comparing to the one I bought made in Canada.. I was hoping it will help with my insomnia but did not notice any better sleep while taking it. Great product, the shipping is prompt as well.. this is my 3rd time I bought it.

Excellent product. Dissolve it in hot water or put it in coffee. Slightly bitter but not unpleasant. I recently read that at a conference of ophthalmologists in Denver it was reported that at least in a mouse model, baicalein, the analogue of baicalin which is thought to be the most important flavonoid in baikal scullcap, reduces intraocular pressure and facilitates the outflow of fluid in the eye (good for glaucoma). Coupled with baikal skullcap’s known and very potent anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, not even to mention its extremely potent antiviral properties, this herb extract’s possible effect in glaucoma is enough to convince me to use it regularly. I am happy with this product, but I am going to supplement with purified baicalin, which is converted into the aglycone analogue baikalein in the gut by normal gut flora. As baicalein it is well absorbed and apparently utilized. If you use baicalin as your source of baicalein, take it after a meal.

I have used E-Fong Huang Qin/Chinese Skullcap for almost 2 years now and I love it. I originally used it to heal from Topical Steroid Withdrawal, since it’s excellent for reducing inflammatory cytokines involved with chronic immune conditions. Now I continue using it because I have read the amazing hormone balancing and adrenal health benefits. It also helps me sleep solidly every night. I take 2 scoops a day – 1 in the afternoon, 1 right before bed. I don’t take it straight, I actually put the granules into gelatin capsules using a simple capsule maker. It’s much easier for me to take it daily that way!
