Newbee here. I started last year.
I know that probiotics help with our health. So I thought it might do the same for the bees.
I have seen some videos and info online about SuperDFM. It seemed great. So I decided to give it a try.
My hive almost vanished last year. Lots of dead bees. I could not see bees coming in or out. Actually I saw one walking out of the hive and walking across the landing board and falling onto the ground on top of the other dead bees. It was very depressing to see that. I thought the hive had died. I can tell the smell of a dead bee now.
After a couple of weeks I saw some activity in front of the hive. Some bees doing orientation flights. It was summer.
So I started to sprinkle some SuperDFM with powdered sugar every time I did an inspection.
They recovered, overwintered and are very strong now. Or so I think. As I said I am a newbee.
Got a second NUC this year. I gave them SuperDFM the day they arrived and in every inspection.
They are stronger than my first hive at the same time.
Not sure if that was a result of it or if they are naturally stronger.
I read at the DFM website that giving DFM more often not necessarily enhances the results, but again after I almost lost one hive. I don’t want to take chances.

I did not want to break apart the propolis seals at this time of year, so just put a little scoop on the landing board. Bees were on it before I could turn around, not a spec remained an hour later. I was skeptical, they weren’t. I want strong winter bees, healthy fall bees is the way to get there! 🐝😁

healthy guts and strong going thorough the winter months.

I had a struggling swarm that I believe had been sprayed before I was called to retrieve them. They were staggering out of the hive and onto the ground. I used this once a week for a month and also fed them inside the hive and have noticed huge improvements, they are also foraging again which was very exciting to see. I definitely recommend having this on hand!
