I work in the supplement industry, and I’ve tried probably 10 or so different brands of turmeric to find one that I feel good with suggesting to clients. After researching, I found that it’s best not to use anything with Bioperine or black pepper because it can cause leaky gut syndrome. This brand absorbs quickly without side effects. It’s helped with acid reflux, headaches, regular aches and pains, and menstrual cramps. I found out that Himalaya does testing on a product for 5-10 YEARS before it’s released to the public. I use several supplements & herbs from this company. Adding their Boswellia to the Turmeric has worked wonders for severe arthritis sufferers.

I have been using turmeric consistently for five years. I take it twice daily for fibromyalgia, inflammation, shoulder pain, and herniated discs. Over the years, I’ve tried several brands. In comparison, I believe that Himalaya is by far the purest, highest quality of ingredients. It’s a reputable company who is trustworthy. I love that this brand of Himalaya turmeric is free from wheat, corn, soy, dairy, and that it’s vegan. In 2008, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and herniated discs. After traditional medicine nearly killed me in 2010, (Beware of Cymbalta and Benzodiazepines), I made positive improvements with my overall health. I discovered that herbal medicine, plant-based foods, a clean diet, and natural alternatives significantly increased my quality of life. It’s a game-changer! For those who want to decrease their pain levels and inflammation levels, I believe that taking 3 capsules of Himalaya turmeric twice daily works better than only 1-2 capsules daily. Of course, each of us are different and we may respond differently to turmeric. Do what works good for you. Sometimes, trial and error is necessary to see what’s a good fit for you. This product is an anti inflamatory. It helps me with pain and stiffness, upset stomach, and muscle tension headaches. I have relief withing 20-30 mins without the dangerous side effects of aspirin and nsaids. Those otc gave me ulcers, gi bleeding and heartburn. I don’t have that with turmeric; its active ingredient curcumin. Its a superfood. The Himilaya brand is easy to digest and potent. Ive tried several supplements. They have fillers and other things that make them difficult to swallow or digest. I subscribe and save sometimes.

While I do believe this is a quality product for what it is, I did not see any reviews on here that addressed the ability of tumeric to thin your blood, so I want to give a warning for anyone who may be sensitive to it like me to start off slowly and don’t take too much at first. You can also find stuff about this online, but it isn’t mentioned much in most articles about tumeric. Apparently it doesn’t do this for everyone, but in my case I’m not even able to take one of these pills everyday as it thins my blood too much to the point that my period starts early even in the middle of my cycle and is thin and runny when it isn’t normally like that. It also makes me feel a bit off when it’s like that. I do believe this product is effective for minor to moderate pain relief depending on the type of pain you have, but I took just one yesterday and my stomach started cramping within a couple of hours and my period started a few hours later when it isn’t due to start for a few more days. I originally got this to take to help inflammation and back pain, but unfortunately I’m not able to use it as often as I wish I could. Going to try Boswellia next.

I often find it difficult to leave reviews for supplements. even when they are effective, the results are usually subtle. Turmeric works over time, not rapidly like an NSAID, but much more gently and in harmony with your body. I like a few things about Himalaya. I like that its organic as I’ve read that non-organic turmeric can often contain toxins. I like that it is from a smaller independent company that has been doing this for years. I like the price point compared to some other products. And yes, I DO seem to notice a difference. I take it daily and definitely seem to have less feelings of pain or stiffness than I would otherwise. Himalaya chose not to include pepper for bio-availability but state that if you take this after having consumed some fat then it is bioavailable. So I make a point of having at least a little fat with my meal before taking. So far, so good, and have ordered this several times.
