I consume two of these so far and I think I’ll be throwing the rest of them away. I know the flavor says Matcha flavor, but the flavor and the texture are both god-awful. The texture is of a slimy, booger and very inconsistent (and chewy at times) and the flavor is as if Matcha was left in a trashcan with some seaweed and decomposing animals. The taste is disgusting at best. Montre is such a nice and simple and neutral flavor and it makes zero sense for a product like this if it’s gonna be beyond, overpowered by all the other attacks on the senses

As big matcha fans, we were really excited to try the Early Bright New York Matcha-Flavored Hydration & Vitality Jelly Sticks, but it ended up being a bit of a mixed experience. The matcha flavor itself is decent – it’s got that earthy, slightly sweet profile we love.
The texture, though, wasn’t quite what we expected. The first stick had a lot of extra liquid before we even got to the jelly, which threw us off. On a second try, we drained the liquid first, which helped, but the jelly’s consistency still wasn’t for us. It’s somewhere between jello and something a little looser – hard to put into words, but it didn’t quite hit the mark.
Overall, it’s not bad, especially if you’re used to unique textures in snacks, but it didn’t totally win us over. The concept is fun, and the matcha flavor is on point, but the texture was a bit of a hurdle.

Somehow, the matcha powder in this tastes way more bitter than pleasant, and also overpowers the taste buds. Not to mention the texture is thick and not terribly jelly-like. I can’t see this being a good snack.

Texture: It took me a while to think of what the texture of this is most comparable to. Because it’s not so much a jelly, it’s not a dried fruit snack and it’s definitely not just straight liquid. I think that the texture of this is really similar to if you rehydrated a fruit by the foot where it still stayed together, but it wasn’t as dried out as a fruit by the foot.
Taste: I think that someone who is using this on a regular basis it is more for the nutrients and what it is adding to your life. This is obviously not a Michelin star restaurant in a pouch. It didn’t taste as Matcha as I expected. However, I found the taste to be fairly neutral. Not something that I love and will think about for the rest of my life, but it also is not something that I immediately disliked. To me for a vitamin, supplement or something along those lines that’s a happy sweet point for something that I can regularly consume.
Individual piece packaging: the items are secured and sealed done very well. It arrived with everything neatly sealed. There were no leaks, no open areas. The packaging is really quite excellent. I found it very easy to eat this item directly from the packaging.
Expiration date: the expiration date for the package that arrived is June 2026. Which is a pretty fantastic expiration date because that’s a little over a year and a half away. Very happy with that.
Container packaging: Cute, as depicted online and functional.
Overall I would order this again if in the market for adding this type hydration to my life.

The matcha flavor is overpowered by the artificial sweetness of high fructose corn syrup, which was disappointing for a wellness product. Given its inclusion of HFCS, it doesn’t align with the clean ingredients I was hoping for. It may offer hydration, but the taste is a real letdown.

I don’t like energy drinks, but I’m prone to the afternoon slumps, so I thought I’d try these.
They’re fine at room temp, but improved when refrigerated. The flavor isn’t very matcha-y, which is a bummer, but I do usually get a little bump about 10-15 min after eating one of these. They’re convenient to store and easy to take (love the tear-off packaging!), but I don’t feel any more hydrated than usual, and I think these are a bit pricey.
Has a little juice to keep the jelly stick moist. Made of real matcha powder, so it’s a bit gritty because of it.
