I love this herb because it helps to fight off upper respiratory diseases and does away with the need for antibiotics. I take a half stopper full each morning. If I feel a cold coming on, I double the dosage. I wouldn’t be without it.

For me, a sore throat is just the beginning of a head cold or flu with symptoms that linger on for weeks. After the holidays one day I woke up with a sore throat, discovered I was almost out of Usnea, but I had at least one dose left. I took that one dose and ordered another bottle. My sore throat went away without need of the next bottle! But I’m sure I’ll need it again someday, and I believe it’s important to have Usnea on hand so that I can take it right at the start.

Usnea works to help you fight a cold or flu ….. you do have to begin taking it the minute you feel you are coming down with a cold/flu ….. take a dropperful in a shot glass of water 3 times a day . Many people don’t talk about it, but usnea is a great antifungal. Sometimes fungus infections like bacteria and viruses become resitent to certain herbal treatments. This is why I try to switch my treatment methods up and use alternatives. Pau d’ Arco is used A LOT for yeast infection / candida overgrowth. However usnea (a lichen) is a good alternative to Pau d Arco. Also it is an antibacterial. I found it helped with my BV (bacteria Vaginosis) tremendously.
