I have been taking Quercetin supplements for a few years now and a believer in benefits that they offer. The Healthy Directions brand is very comparable to other brands that I have used, and they also use the Sophora Japonica flower as the source of quercetin. The supplements are easy to swallow, have no negative side effects, and no aftertaste. Great ingredients!

As with all supplements it is difficult at best to determine how well they work to improve ones health. You depend on the quality of the manufacturer to produce the product with the correct ingredients and in a safe manner. A GMP lab is generally a good starting point for authentic ingredients. You can always request a copy of the Certificate of Analysis from the manufacturer to verify the ingredients for the supplement. This product does have a GMP claim and I haven’t requested a COA from the company. They claim to manufacture in the USA, but don’t define the source ingredients. They source their ingredients from worldwide sources, which is most likely from China. That being said I am going to assume that the product has the ingredients and quality as claimed.

Being vegan the vegan capsules are an important feature for me. I’m also a fan of ethical sourcing, organic, and Non-GMO ingredients.

So then it comes down to price and value. Is the price fair for what you are getting? I don’t believe so. At 22 cents per capsule, this product is at the high-range with similar products. How does the quality of the product in juxtaposition with its price place it in the value category? I would rank it pretty low in value, certainly not the best in value. It would be a better value if it was priced lower. Would I purchase this product in the future. Probably not since there are alternative products of equal or better quality at a much lower price.

I like the ingredients in this supplement.
I was happy to try this supplement and maybe add it to my regimen.
I do think the product is a little expensive. Three pills for the dosage daily is a lot of capsules to take along with my other supplements.
I recently started walking daily for exercise. I was hoping this supplement may help me with my exercise routine. I also like this product may help with inflammation. It is nice there is a 30 day supply to use in the bottle. I like to be able to use a product for a reasonable amount of time to be able to make a good assessment of this product.

I have Quercetin on hand at all times! This is a must have supplement for me. This is easy to swallow and has no flavor. I find that for me, it works as an immune system booster. I’ve been taking Querctin for several years now. The only reason for the four stars is that this one is a bit expensive for the number of capsules you get.

  6. Cascadian

I’ve been taking Quercetin with Bromelain on and off since about 2020 when it became so important to support my immune system, so I thought I would try this solo Quercetin supplement by Healthy Directions. Quercetin is an antioxidant flavonoid said to have Low Bioavailability, so, as another reviewer mentioned, this will likely benefit from being taken with something to improve bioavailability (I’ve seen Vitamin C and/or Bromelain mentioned online). Otherwise, this Supplement and it’s developers stand out to me as trustworthy. Part of the reason for that has to do with their:

Transparency: The Healthy Directions brand belongs to Adaptive Health, which has an information dense web page which includes an actual timeline and information about Healthy Directions products. They claim that in 2012 Healthy Directions won the Nutrition Business Journal’s Management Achievement Award for Excellence. In 2018 Adaptive Health bought Biovation Labs, which makes most of their products in SLC Utah.

Accountability: Adaptive health claims that “We manufacture our products at our state-of-the art FDA-registered, NSF-certified facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.” (which I verified at the National Sanitation Foundation web page). While all supplement companies need to be FDA registered, being GMP certified by the NSF (and that being easily verified) is impressive.

Quality: A dose of 1000 mg is three relatively large but easy to swallow capsules. Because Quercetin is said to have low bioavailability by itself (I’ve seen 1-10% mentioned), I’ll likely take this with something said to improve absorption, like Bromelain or Vitamin C, but I’m not an expert. There is only a very faint, pleasant scent. This is a 30 day supply.

I’m so excited to see a product that is transparent, Doctor developed, made in the US, made by a company with a track record and which is actually *verifiably* GMP certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). It’s a delight to both use and recommend this product. Instead of just when I feel like I’m coming down with something, I may start taking it daily as well, in the interest of supporting cardiac health.

I like the capsules. They’re much easier to swallow than the tablets I sometimes find quercetin in. And I’ve been using quercetin for years to keep my itchy nose and eyes and throat under control. So very useful.

A small disclaimer: I have to assume the ingredients are genuine and accurate, as I don’t have the equipment to test the ingredients. I’m also not a health expert qualified to make any health claims from taking this product.

Healthy Directions Quercetin recommends 3 capsules for 1000mg a day. I think most people would fine taking a lower dose and stretching how long the bottle lasts. The capsules are standard size, you find in 80% of supplements. Do some research, quercetin has many possible positive affects. This product is vegan and gluten free.
