I ordered this thinking Inwas getting a bargain. I misread, it’s the 12 hour, not 24 hour. It still works, I just double the dose. They are easier to swallow if you’re looking for a smaller size pill.

I begged my mother to try a different med (she was using Zyrtec) because she had that little throat clearing habit that drove people batty and made her a pariah at movie theatres. I told her that I find it prevents me from having that annoying feeling that my throat needs to be gently cleared, while other meds do not.
Before fexofenadine I suffered in silence because I feel the sound of hearing someone frequently do that little thoat clear is even more annoying than the feeling and the feeling only impacts one person, the sound impacts everyone in hearing distance including me. Too many annoying things and no one wants you around. I would rather potentially annoy people with my inappropriate humor or by employing fake accents and personnas to make mundane tasks more interesting or by daring to share opinions that don’t always mesh with theirs– something fun and/or worth being annoying about– rather than using up my annoyingness allowance by definitely being annoying with a sound that makes people associate me with mucus. Yuck.
Anyway, Mom insisted that she had already tried fexofenadine… but then she ran out of her usual and finally tried my fexofenadine and voila! she was fixed. No more every-minute-of-every-day throat clearing. I may take her to the movies.

I usually buy the name brand Allegra 24hour. I wanted to save money and thought I’d try these. They do work but I’ve noticed they don’t work as well and they are only 12 hours. I really should be taking 3 pills to get the effect of 1 of the brand name I feel. I’ll use them until they are gone but probably won’t buy again.

This is a generic version of Allegra, which is considerably more effective than loratadine (Claritin) which is believed by many to be largely ineffective at its standard 10 mg dose. There’s really no benefit to name brand, and this version is consistently the best bargain on Amazon for fexofenadine.
Certainly understand this is the 60 mg dose meant for 12 hour efficacy and not the 180 mg dose meant for 24 hour efficacy. I can’t tolerate the 24 hour dose. I don’t feel drowsy taking that dose, but feel all jittery. 60 mg is the perfect dose for me, and that was Hoechst‘s standard prescription dosage when Allegra came on the market as an alternative to Seldane (which had some serious drug interactions and was essentially just Allegra after metabolizing in the body). I used to get 180 mg doses and split them (which a pharmacist said was OK) but it’s hard to get the split perfect and even then 75-105 mg isn’t an FDA approved dose, although it worked well for me.
If you really need or want a 180 mg dose, there are plenty of sources for that from Amazon, including HealthA2Z.

The 180 milligram tablets weren’t lasting a full 24 hours with me. Since it’s not advisable to take two of those, and I needed another dose at the end of each day, I found this 60 mg dose to be perfect. It lasts about 12 hours, just in time for a second dose. I tend to have more problems with my skin than I do with sneezing, and being able to take a second dose in the evening carries me through the night without itching.
