Marine collagen is 1.5x more bioavailable compared to bovine, which is a huge deal to me, as in if I take 12g of this, it’s like I am getting 18g of bovine collagen. In addition, marine collagen is much higher in amino acids serine and arginine, which are important for muscle health/performance and energy production (something I value as an athlete). I feel more energetic and focused after taking this, while also noticing having an easier time contracting muscles. With bovine collage, I never noticed these types of effects.
The overall taste of this is fine, similar to bovine. There is a very very slight fish undertone aftertaste, that seems to get wiped out easily after drinking or eating something else. I will be taking 12g of this daily going forward. Thank you for such a high quality product.

So far good. It dissolves well and I can’t taste it when blended into my morning smoothies. It was recommended by my dermatologist as the one he uses.

I think it works to make my hair and nails stronger and thicker. I’m happy that I found a marine only collagen product because I just don’t trust where other animal collagens come from. It has no taste, which is good. When you first start taking it, start slowly and prepare to bloat up! Get your stretchy pants on! I found that putting it in real food, as in yogurt, worked better than in liquids, and I never took more than one scoop a day, which when I researched the subject, I learned was the right amount. I’m only sorry that I don’t get auto-ship because I want to control when packages are coming, so that’s a bummer.

For all about a year, I used Bulletproof brand collagen protein in my morning coffee. It worked well for me although it was a little expensive, until I realize where Bulletproof was sourcing its collagen from: cows in South America, from farms which are destroying the Amazon. So to be a more ethical consumer, I decided to look for a collagen from another source. I discovered marine collagen, and I tried this one. It’s pretty good. The one problem I have with it is that Amazon sells an 8 ounce package for about twice as much as Trader Joe’s sells a 7 ounce package, so I will be sourcing my great lakes collagen peptides from Trader Joe’s going forward.

I’ve tried another popular collagen peptide brand, but this one dissolves so much better. I use one packet in my coffee in the mornings, and after a short stir, there’s no more powder or lumps. The powder doesn’t sink to the bottom either, which is great for drinking every last drop of coffee. I like that these come in individual packets, so you can take it on the go and not have to deal with a scooper. There is no taste to this either. All in all, I think I found my new favorite collagen peptide! I just wish it came in a bigger box, since I go through 20 pretty quickly.
