Wisdom teeth removal: my oral surgeon did not provide me with one of these. I literally do not know what I would’ve done without it. Back up packs so a set is always in the freezer when in use. I will say if you are consistently using them 30 mins on/off they do not stay cold very long.
I’m on day 3 postop and have very very minimal swelling. Without a doubt related to having this ability to ice hands free!
They are gel and form comfortably to the contour of your face.
100% recommend for wisdom teeth removal!

Major jaw surgery recovery required continually icing area for management of pain, pressure & swelling for the first week post surgery. In the second week now and we’ve been directed to apply heat to further aid in the healing process. This pack construction is far better for functionality and comfort then the ice bags provided by hospital or the sling from surgeon. It doesn’t slide off and makes it easier for patient to sleep or rest. The velcro closure at top makes it so easy to place on and off. However, the one negative on this specific design is that the velcro placement should have been reversed. The way the velcro attaches it catches the hair because it faces down on the head. Because the printed side of the ice pack faces out, you can’t simply reverse it. The printed side has thicker padding to keep heat or cool from escaping quicker. In order to keep it from catching the hair we had to clip a piece of fabric on the section of velcro that would catch patient’s hair. It may work fine for people with a smaller cranium size. That said the extra set of gel backs were great for the continuous icing needed in the first week. One was chilling while the other was in use. Please change the velcro position & it will be 5 stars across the board.

This has been so helpful, It’s now less than 24 hours from having the teeth removed and I’m over 60 years old. I been using from the time I got home, yes even over night. By last night I had very little swelling, control pain, and even help with the issue I was having with bleeding had to go back to the doctor. Helpful hints for use. Order “2” for the price it’s worth it, you will have extra cold packs and a back-up support in-case you get blood on one of them and have to wash it. Wife put the cold packs on top a bag of ice in the freezer and to freeze faster. I was also able to use the support with other cold packs “they must be thin” wrapping them in a thin towel before securing around my head. Yes it may look funny but it WORKS!

This is perfect for icing if you have TMJ issues. The ice packs still remail pliant even after freezing overnight. The inside of the band is very soft. The velcro is sturdy. Its a bit stretchy so i would imagine it would fit most people. It’s comfortable to wear and doesn’t interfere with whatever i am doing while I wear it. I initially found that the ice was too cold and thought the inner cover on the band could be a bit thicker. I was going to get a cloth to put between it and my cheeks but after a minute or two it no longer felt too cold.

I used this contraption after I got my wisdom teeth pulled and I highly recommend it! The 4 ice packs instead of 2 is genius, to always have 2 packs in the freezer while you are using 2. The size was adjustable with the Velcro strap, made with quality fabric and the pockets are just thick enough that your face gets cold but it’s uncomfortable. Worth the buy!

Love that it comes with 4 packs so you can keep them frozen while using the other two. For wisdom teeth removal, we were advised to do 20 minutes on/off for the first 24hrs so having the extra packs freezing worked great. After 48 hrs, advised to only use heat and super easy to throw in the microwave for 20 seconds and they were really warm. Velcro was strong and stayed on wrapped around the chin/head.

I ordered this for my husband who just had his wisdom teeth removed.
When I had mine out, my doctor gave me a face strap with soft gel icepacks, but his did not, so he was holding plastic bags filled with ice cubes up to his cheeks on the first day after surgery. It was unpleasant and uncomfortable, plus he was exhausted from the strong medications and had a hard time keeping them on for long enough.
I found this product and ordered it for him, and it arrived in one day. It is a lifesaver. He can ice his cheeks hands-free while watching T.V. or working and he does not have to worry about holding it up or having uncomfortable ice cubes poking him.
If you are going to have your wisdom teeth out, buy this! Even if the doctor would give you a face strap, this one is far more comfortable. Plus, it comes with two additional gel inserts, so you can always have two in the freezer while the other two are in use! And it doubles as heated gel pack therapy if you need that for TMJ or something related!
