I’m not so upset about mineral oil and petroleum (my mom used to use petroleum jelly on our chapped lips) – That said this Propolis Lip Gel is not a beeswax only product and the ingredients on the box are not what I expected, based on the name “propolis” leading me to believe this was mainly a product derived from honey bees.
The scent is like honey (not sure what geraniums smell like, but that is the description), and the petroleum based balm comes out with a turn of the container – it’s easy to use and really does moisturize my dry, wind chapped lips.
So, if you are ok with petroleum based products and mineral oil – versus wanting organic, beeswax based products – this might work well for you (there is beeswax in this product – about mid way down the ingredients list). I didn’t deduct stars just because the product is petroleum based – i based my review on the fact that this lip balm works well for my chapped lips.
I prefer to order organic beeswax based lip products and even thought this product does exactly what it says it does and it feels good on my chapped lips… I’m not likely to order it again.

The dispenser is a bit odd. There is a gel-like liquid inside the container. You spin the container and the liquid gets pressed through a small hole in the top.
It’s easy to twist too much, because there is a slight delay between the time you spin it and the time it comes out.
It shouldn’t twist it while it’s in a purse or anything.
The gel itself seems to work fine. It keeps my lips moisturized without needing to re-apply frequently.
I’m very hapy with this product.

If you like Vaseline or petroleum based lip products this might be for you. I’m including a photo where you can see the ingredients and see if it’s right for you. The second ingredient listed is mineral oil. It doesn’t really have a taste but it does have a strange floral smell to it. It does not taste or smell like honey at all. I think the suggestion of honey, and the yellow color of the packaging has people fooled. It did stay on several hours through eating and drinking but not the 12 hours listed. I wanted to get this because of the healing power of propolis but it is listed in the trace ingredients section.Overall I have very sensitive lip skin (I can’t even wear most minty lip balms) and this is slightly irritating to my skin, I find I’m using it for the cuticles more than a lip balm. The applicator has fooled me every time, you rotate it one click and nothing comes out, then click again and a little bit comes out so you click again, and then like 30 seconds later a bunch comes out and you have to figure out what to do with it. So if you get this be patient and wait for it to come out.

My lips become easily dry, so I am slightly obsessive about my lip moisturizers. Truly, my family teases me because I have some type of lip moisturizer in every room of the house. In addition, I must have some type of sensitivity, but some lip moisturizers will actually chap my lips and make them peel. Because of all this, I’m constantly looking for lip moisturizers that work well for me. I was a bit hesitant about ordering this Propolis Lip Gel by Loske because a “gel” sounded like it could dry out quickly. I’m so happy I ordered it anyway! This really isn’t the consistency of a gel; it has a much creamier, thicker consistency. It leaves my lips feeling incredibly moisturized and is long lasting. For me, it didn’t last the 12 hours as advertised but I don’t know any lip product that would last that long as you eat and drink throughout the day, so I don’t consider that a negative. It’s a translucent cream that also works on your cuticles as suggested in the listing. I am a bit disappointed there is no ingredient listing. Anything that I put on my lips I’m going to ingest so it’s important to me to know all the ingredients. The Royal Jelly Protein mentioned in the description is literally the only ingredient mentioned anywhere. It has a bit of a weird, almost chemical smell which fortunately, I can only smell and taste when I really pay attention to it. Be careful of dispensing. I turned and turned the top because no product was coming out and suddenly, about one inch worth of the gel came shooting out. Once I got past that, I was able to just rub the applicator across my lips instead of using my finger, which I prefer. I really like this lip gel but I’m a bit torn about ordering again due to the lack of ingredient transparency.
